Yep, a boot disk with cd support is what you need. Boot that baby up, throw in your XP cd and do it to it.

You'll need the XP cd to reinstall. Like yutedog said, boot off the XP cd and do a 'repair' or reinstall.. otherwise you're SOL, a Win98 boot disk can't read an NTFS partition.

shit. how the hell do you boot off the cd. i thought you just put it in and it'll ask you if you want to boot off the cd. i did that but it doesn't ask. i have two cd drives and i used the d drive becuase that's the first one.

Check the boot order in your bios (usually press DEL or F2 when your system is POSTing.) make sure that the cd-rom is the first boot device and it should either boot right off the cd, or ask you to press any key to boot off the cd..

And I agree with Infamuz. Use Nero damnit!

blah blah blah blah

You guys and this damn nero cd.... Roxio is just fine. It looks like gmilian didn't follow the instructions on the website.

Gmilian- if you have a dell, restart and when the dell screen appears hit the f2 key. Go into the bios screen and bootdisk startup change to you cd rom that you are using. Thow in the windows xp cd, restart your pc and follow the instructions. Install the two files i told you about in a previous thread for roxio, and then install roxio. Roxio should not have a problem....Actually i am burning a cd as I speak

Roxio 5 works great for me in XP. I thought Nero's burning engine was a little slow compared to Roxio. If you do all the proper updates, Easy CD 5 will be the best option. With the XP update, you will loose the "Take Two" function which I never used anyway.
