Troubleshooting Fail: Stuck Drivers Window

Instead of the long epic I had typed out at first, I'll just stick to the important details...

Back in April, I get out my 2002 tl-s, come back, the window won't roll down, it's dead. No warning, no hint of an issue prior.
Mechanic says $400, I say I love fresh air but not for $400 at this moment.
A few weeks ago, I bring a junkyard regulator/motor back home, rip out the old one, plug the jy part in and no luck.
Ordered an advertised as working used switch on Ebay to rule that issue out, no luck.
Ordered an aftermarket regulator off Ebay (4 pin), not a direct fit to the harness, my maintenance co-worker swapped wire harnesses with the old ripped out motor and we plugged it in and still no work.
I had already thought I ruled out fuses in the beginning as none were broke, double checked the fuse inside the car today and ruled that out again.

So I've been dealing with a bunch of used parts and one discount aftermarket motor/regulator, I'm pretty sure it's not the switch at this point, though I read somewhere that all four window switches should behave the exact same way, my original switch, the one on Ebay and two I sat at the junkyard and tried all have the same slight extra down motion of the driver's window switch.

Part of me is thinking I should try one more time and order a new motor that actually directly fits into the harness, the other part is like forget it, just drop it off somewhere.
I don't have a huge array of tools to where I can start checking volts and whatnot, I can swap parts but that's about it.

I'm tired of driving with a taped up window and door panel off

Instead of throwing parts at it, you could have bought a cheap multimeter and properly test and probably saved a bunch of money as well!

That sounds like the smart move, I've never used one but I guess it's time I learn how to use one.

And perhaps I would've have been so gung ho to do it myself if it weren't for my mechanic assuring me it was the motor.

That one's on me I know...

It's not too hard to learn. You're just plugging red to red, black to black and checking to see if power is going to X when pressing Y. Don't overthink it,

Window fixed, went back to the junkyard to pull the unit and

I will be investing in a multimeter for future do-it-myself adventures.

Btw I'm firing my mechanic, grabbed a trunk motor while I was out there and who would've thought $12 bucks and 15 mins would solve going thru the back seat for 3 years after my mechanic said he couldn't figure it out.
