The GM is solid. Been running every beta version of it so far. Reinstalling though is a bitch since the updates are now delta updates, so you need to do like 7 updates to get to GM.

So is the image of the GM available or do I have to start with DP1?

Or just go the public beta way, less updates. There's only been 3 updates to the public, and it's been good since the 1st update and when it goes final you can update from beta 3.

Installed the GM on the rMBP, it is indeed nice. Now with all my iOS devices and Macs (sans my 2008 mini that I just use as a file server) are on iOS8 and Yosemite, OK to move to iCloud Drive?

From what I hear, yes if your Mac is on Yosemite then ok to upgrade.

I learned my lesson the last time. I need to wait to see what's up with VMWare Fusion support before I upgrade. Last time I was forced to upgrade because v5 didn't support Mavericks.

Is the public beta the same build as the final release? Or do I need to install over it?

I'm on 14a338b. There were two updates to the beta today, I was expecting the beta name to go away but I don't think it has yet

Nothing official from Apple, but people are installing over the PB or dev builds, with no issues.

Safari seems to have gotten rid of private browsing...and now when you hit the URL bar it lists most visited sites.

Man, they are making hard to enjoy porn in private.

Yeah saw that after I posted. Wont (or shouldn't) show private browsing there though.

Anyone using FileVault 2? Is there a performance hit? Any reason I wouldn't want to use it?

Palo Alto Networks discovers new malware affecting Apple devices

Cyber security software maker Palo Alto Networks said it discovered a new family of malware affecting Apple's OS X desktop and iOS mobile operating systems.

The new family of malware, dubbed WireLurker, "marks a new era in malware across Apple's mobile and desktop platforms," the company said in a statement.

WireLurker can install third-party applications on non-jailbroken iOS devices and can attack iOS devices through OS X via USB devices, the company added.

Apple was not immediately available for comment.

its a brand new refurbished one from Apple. paid $640 after tax for it.

bought it about 2 weeks ago.

2.3ghz quadcore i7, 4GB, 1TB 5400rpm ( )

It was sold out for the longest time, and when it came in stock, it sells out FAST!
But i whined about it HP Touchpad style, so thats why i was able to score one.

waiting for more funds, then going to get an apple style keyboard for it, 16gb of ram and then drop in a 512GB SSD.

its pretty ridiculous how much faster this thing is than my current PC build
