It will then give you an option to move the window to the left or right side of the screen and it does it without going in to full screen mode
i learned this from all places, LinusTechTips, during his first impression of one of the new M1 chipped Macs

So I never bothered paying for this (I'm cheep), but i learned a new feature that does exactly what i want which is to move two windows side by side but not in full screen mode. Press and hold option on your keyboard, then hover your mouse over green button.

but really, what's the purpose of not having it in full screen? I like expanding things to full screen so I can 3-finger swipe between windows. Or you could ctrl + left/right arrow too
Unfortunately can't really install stuff like ad-blockers on the work computer, but Macs are nicer for browsing.

Also i have a dual screen set up. i don't really want to switch back and forth between full screens.
I have my right side monitor showing the dual screens for my personal stuff and my main monitor running my remote desktop in to work in full screen.
Just opening something like a calculator pops me out of full screen.

I mentioned this stuff a long time ago about using a trackpad, but you said you didn't like it
I don't work on this UI/UX, I figured this out by fumbling around so

Windows window management > macOS window management
This shit we're talking about here is one of the main reasons why I went back to PC, that and apps that I use that are cross platform usually run a little worse and are missing some features on the macOS version.
Is there a way so that if I CMD+Tab between apps and I switch to an app that has a window minimized it will pull the window back up again? Who wants to switch to an app just to see the Menu bar but not the window you were last in. That is the dumbest shit. Also the way it handles mouse and keyboard focus, where it will move mouse focus to another app but not the keyboard, IDK it's kinda hard to explain without using it extensively again but Windows windows are just more intuitive to work with.

I stopped using a trackpad and went back to a mouse.
and what you mentioned isn’t what I want.
The way I had it was my left monitor was in full screen mode for my Remote Desktop. (I have to run full screen or the software connects at a lower resolution 720p )
my right monitor had two windows side my side with safari.
if I ever wanted to open anything (mail, finder, calculator etc) It would kick me out of full screen on one of the monitors.
now with the side by side windows not in full screen I can open up said items and manipulate (drag drop copy past etc) what I want without having to switch back and forth.
if that makes any sense.

Ctrl + left/right only works with fullscreen windows. You can leave whatever window you don't want kicked out on your desktop "screen" (desktop counts as it's own full screen). This way, opening calculator won't push that screen off to the side. Dunno if that's what you're looking for.

I am a niche user I guess. Single ultrawide, connected to my MBP via Thunderbolt. Lid closed. Plenty of room between my two primary apps on one desktop, then I 3-finger swipe to the other screen for slack and whatever BS app (like Spotify) attached to the other side.
You can cycle through safari tabs with cmd+tab or shift+cmd+tab too.
^to make that easier I swapped cmd and ctrl in the modifier key settings. Also partly because I didn't feel like relearning cmd+c/v for copy/paste, etc.

I might need to remap cmd and ctrl.
Some times get confused switching between the two since my work computer is windows.

Is there any advantage to downloading Apple Music files to my mac/pc if my devices are always going to be connected to the Internet? Is the audio quality higher if I download the music rather than stream?

I don't think so. It's still 256kbps AAC

It only matters on iOS and if you’re using cell data
with iOS I can go down to 128kbps unless you force it to high quality streaming.

So I'm still on MacOS Catalina, and Security Update 2020-001 for 10.15.7 brought back the classic Startup Chime on my 2018 Mini..
While I don't mind the chime as I had it on my 2012 Mini, this thing is blasting it at full volume. Is there a way to make it not so loud?
Is the volume controllable in Big Sure other than off/on?

I finally upgraded from 10.14. to 11.3 beta and, like on the iPhone, Apple Watch unlock has been solid 100% for on my old 2013 laptop after upgrading to 11.3. Seems like they finally focused resources on fixing the unreliability of it, it's gone from 20% accurate to 100% for me.
I'm enjoying Big Sur makes me feel like I got a new laptop almost, my 2013 MBP with 8GB ram and NVMe SSD is still fast for most tasks. The CPU is starting to show it's age but an NVMe SSD is good at masking other slowness issues on a computer. If I run out of RAM the drop in performance is 10x less than it would be if I had a regular HDD instead.

So I’m confused by those smooth scrolling thing that’s in the safari technology preview. Is the issue of safari scrolling at 60hz only with a Mac with ProMotion?
Or would I be effected with my M1 MBA or 2018 Mini connected to a high refresh rate monitor? (144hz in my case)

How annoying that macOS doesn't support HDMI 2.1 at all. Even if you did a Thunderbolt/USB4 to HDMI 2.1 or even a USB to DP1.4 then DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 or any other combination. From what I've read its a software issue because if you're on an Intel Mac, it works under bootcamp.
Going back to 60hz is pretty rough

Since when did the function key become an important key in macOS?
Function + F to Enter/Exit Full Screen?
