Apple did a Masterclass in reframing the Antennagate fiasco from if I touch the iPhone 4 in this one spot my call drops to if you grip any phone in your hand signal quality drops. That's two different issues the first is unacceptable and the second is understandable. But all the tech blogs, and tech columnists didn't push back on Apple's reframing and got in line, especially after what happened to Gizmodo for publishing pics of the iPhone 4 early, they're still banished for life from all Apple events.
The iPhone 4 is the only phone I always had to have in a case because of this defect.
It's here! I'm happy with how much lighter the 12 is than the 11. It's definitely got that iPhone 5 feel to it
Would you say the 12 is worth it over the 11? I can't decide if I should go for it or not. It seems like it's the same form factor, but my storage is getting pretty full at 64 GB limit, so I am debating if now is the time to pull the trigger....
The form factor and screen are great. I really like how it’s just a little bit smaller and lighter and the squared edges means you’re less likely to drop it. Get the 128gb you can probably sell your 64gb 11 for a good chunk of change.
I feel like after this I’m not buying a phone for a while, this should last me a long time. Though I said that last year, so IDK how they’ll get me next time, though I was able to avoid the urge to upgrade to the 6 series Watch
Lower air quality in some Chinese cities points to iPhone 12 production surge, Morgan Stanley says
Morgan Stanley analysts on Wednesday said that they were tracking air quality reports in Chinese cities that suggested an increase in industrial activity tied to iPhone 12 production.
In Zhengzhou, China, a major production site for Apple’s manufacturing partners, Morgan Stanley analysts believe air quality data suggests a ramp in production for new iPhone models.
Morgan Stanley says its air quality analysis shows signs of iPhone 12 mass production ramping up one month later than historical patterns.
Some analysts started tracking the Tesla app download rate from the iOS and Android app stores because they say it correlates with new vehicle (and solar) purchases which is pretty smart but monitoring air quality that's next level.
Also it reminds me of climate proxies like looking at tree ring density and thickness or Oxygen-16 to Oxygen-18 ratios to determine temperature

Reserved an iPhone 12 for my wife for pick up on Friday. Trading in her XR.
Ha, did the exact same for me son. Blue XR for a Black 12. T-mobile gives $415 for it. Comes Friday.
My 11 Pro Max is still available. I have a buyer lined up for $775 but if someone wants it, let me know as I think he is doing me more of a favor (he owns a computer shop).
I've always kept my iPhone in my front pocket, even when playing sports, working, hiking, etc. It worked well for me from iPhone 3 till iPhone 8. Never thought about it. Getting in and out of a car, standing or sitting, have a phone in my pocket never bother me.
Time for me to get a new phone. I'm pretty sure the next one will be larger in size, perhaps 11 or 12 (not the Pro version). Do they fit well in the front pocket in a jean? I know they fit, but is it "comfortable" or will I risk damaging it in some way? I did try it at the store, but it's not exactly like real life carry.
Guys with iPhone 11 (size) phones, please share with me your experiences with your phone in the front pocket. No, I don't want to put my phone in the back pocket.
It's been so long that I forgot what it was like to wear pants, but I have never had an issue with large phones. Personally I think we're near the limit of phone size though. I have an 11 Pro Max
Kind of looks funny when I wear slimmer pants, I get that "is that a phablet in your pocket or are you happy to see me" look in pictures. But never a mobility issue. Difficult to pull out of your pocket while sitting down if you have a case with grippy material.
But do I have any regrets? No. When the iPhone 4 had a 3.5" screen, I jumped ship to an Android which had a 4.7" screen - unreasonably massive, was the prevailing opinion. I got used to it pretty much immediately back then. When Apple finally made a "Plus" sized phone, I jumped back into iPhones without reservation.
The ONLY time when phone size/weight is an issue (for me) is when jogging with loose athletic shorts.
The 12 fits great, the 11 was fine too though a little bulkier, and Xs Max I had was pretty big and would sometimes poke into my hip when I sat down. I don’t wear skinny jeans but I don’t wear baggy jeans either

FWIW, the iPhone SE 2020 is the size of the iPhone 7-8, and the iPhone 12 mini is a little smaller than the iPhone SE and 8. The SE has a fingerprint reader/home button and a bezel, while the 12 mini has face recognition and a bezel-less screen.
Those are options to the larger iPhone 11s and 12s.
My wife made me cancel her 12 pick up for today...whatever, saves me $30 a month.
Apple One released today, too. I already paid $25 a month for apple music family and 2TB cloud....so hell yeah I'm switching to $30 a month for music, tv, cloud, arcade, news and fitness.

Has anyone seen any reviews of how the magsafe connection possibly messes with magnet car mounts?
Also, I have never ordered an iPhone before and for the first time am considering one with the 12ProMax mainly for the camera case I have been left underwhelmed by the Pixel 5. I hate waiting so will probably preorder so not to wait but might leave it in the box if it arrives before reviews of it come out. Anyone dealt with returning or cancelling order if it doesn't ship before reviews come out? Not crazy over the size but the extra camera tech in the 12ProMax is really the main focus.
Just copped a pair of AirPods on sale for $99 from @Costco
I have the powerbeats pro and they're great for music, but its just bulky to carry around.
They work fine for phone calls, but i dont like how they're in ear headphones so i cant hear anything else.
I struggled with this and am still struggling. Ordered pacific blue this morning but am thinking of canceling for silver. Might have to stop by best buy today to see them in person.

yea it was a tough one. but after watching all the youtube videos i decided on the silver. While the blue does look nice, it just doesnt really stand out to me.
And i've always wanted a silver phone, but apple for the longest time gave it the stupid white front.

I don't want the silver back so the fact they say it almost looks white is good to me. The full polished edge is what also draws me to the silver. Might have to cancel and deal with not getting it right away next Friday.
yea it was also the polished edge that I wasn't too fond of on Pacific Blue. If it was a matte blue edge like on the regular 12, i think i wouldve leaned towards pacific blue.
