Got a confirmed delivery of 11/3 from Sprint, after trying this morning. A little problem I am going to be in Vegas on that day, get back on the 4th... I will have to figure out where I want it delivered....
Still haven't received confirmation email from Apple...
Honestly I'm ok with it for the reason mentioned (I won't be home 11/3) - I ordered the Space Gray 256.

Some LTE providers have already activated gigabit LTE, a protocol that as the name implies will give you super fast data speeds and lower latency.
The Qualcomm chips are capable of supporting it but because the Intel chips cannot, Apple has hobbled their Qualcomm chips so that the Intel chips don't look as bad as they really are. :-)
There are some Android phones like the LG V30 that ship with gigabit LTE enabled.
I have noticed that there are places where the speed tests on my V30 are a lot faster than the speed tests on my iPhone, in the same place at the same time. The tests do not seem to be real "gigabit" speeds, but they're a lot faster than the iPhone 7 Plus with an Intel chipset.
Band 71 is the 600 MHz frequency in which T-Mobile bought a lot of spectrum in order to cover a lot of the country that they cannot cover very well now.
I believe the LG V30 is the only device readily available that has Band 71 right now, but by the fall of 2018 T-Mobile will have rolled out enough arrays that it will be important that a new phone has Band 71.
The only Android phone I have experience with since the original Moto X days is this V30...that's why I talk about it. I don't know anything about the S8 or the G6 or anything else.

how do you think handling with the glass only be ?
Will it be too slippery ?
If you think so, will order up some cases
the glass on the iPhone 4 gave it more grip than the aluminum backed newer models. People at the hands-on after the announcement said the new models were less slippery than the aluminum ones for that reason

I sure hope this is true in real life.
The LG V30 is glass front and rear, and it can slip in your hand when you're doing something that requires extended typing or other manipulation of the interface.
When it slips, you can cause an action inadvertently, or cause a typing error.
These stainless steel surrounds that people are starting to use, I can't help wondering whether it has occurred to people that the extra cost of ridges might be worth it. :-)

I've only switched to T-Mobile this year.
When they turned on 700 MHz Band 12, they suddenly dramatically increased their coverage, and 600 MHz Band 71 should allow them to finish coverage of LTE and start on 5G development.
It was the extra coverage of Band 12 "Extended Range LTE" (or whatever they called it) that made T-Mobile something that I could deal with.
Traveling in rural America, the fastest data speeds on T-Mobile seem to be on Band 4 (AWS 1700 MHz), and it looks to me that there are a lot of older arrays on that band that will get up to 150 Mbps.
For me, T-Mobile is also an extraordinary bargain:
$60.00, all fees included, for two lines full service. Tethering at 4G LTE is allowed on one of the lines, too.

If you make payments, it's the same as everyone else. But, here's their reasoning.
“Our prices reflect the fact that no matter a customer’s desired plan or carrier, or whether a customer is on a business or personal plan, they are able to get a phone the way they want at Best Buy. Our customers have told us they want this flexibility and sometimes that has a cost.”
This is making quite a bit of news in social media.
How do we feel about this?
Would you pay $100.00 extra to get what you want when you want it?
If you cruise around eBay and other sites, there are people demanding a hell of a lot more than $100.00 to get you an iPhone on or near 11/03.
Wouldn't that depend on whether or not Best Buy actually has a giant supply? I mean, the odds don't seem any better if Best Buy sells out just as fast as everyone else.

I'm not sure how it's working.
If Best Buy is not very popular these days (I haven't been in one in years), but they were able to snag a supply as large as a cellular provider, maybe they can still ship to arrive on 11/3.
Best Buy— getting lamer by the month. A 15 day return period unless you buy thousands of dollars a year from them, now charging more than MSRP. What assholes!

Just a guess. :-)
Probably the best assumption. I just checked their website and they claim they can have it shipped by Dec. 15th. Also don't show an option to buy the phone out right either, only a payment plan through Verizon, AT&T, & Sprint, so maybe the $100 extra option is gone now that their supply is gone.
Either way, got confirmation my case will arrive Nov. 1st, ahead of the original est. date.

You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
Only items that have been purchased directly from Apple, either online or at an Apple Retail Store, can be returned to Apple. Apple products purchased through other retailers must be returned in accordance with their respective returns and refunds policy.
As for charging more... Hey. It's capitalism.
Car dealers do it.
If people don't like it, they can let them know by spending their money elsewhere. Vote with your wallet.

Buy on DPP (device payment plan) then pay off remaining balance in full amount a day or 2 later. I've done that before with Verizon when Best Buy was having a promo. Didn't have any problem doing so.

That's what I'm doing with Verizon. But, it's not what I was talking about in my post, either. The $100 extra fee was situated on top of Best Buy giving you the option to pay for the phone in full upfront; I don't think that option is available anymore now that their supplies for launch are gone.
Of course people will pay that extra just to get it early. Have you looked eBay during new console releases? $100 extra is probably nothing to some people.
