I'm probably getting the X, I have hyperhydrosis (frequently sweaty hands/feet) and TouchID has been annoying for me since it only works half the time. FaceID will be great for me (hopefully), the bigger OLED screen will be nice too, The dimensions of the X put it right between the 4.7 and 5.5in models, but closer to the 4.7in which I have now.

i have had a 6 plus and 7 plus now
I am getting the x because I prefer a smaller phone without having to go back to a 1993 model
It's also not a better phone than the 8+. slightly larger display and FaceID which is nice, but not a real upgrade over the 8+ otherwise.
Depends on what youre looking for in phone.
It will have 3gb of internal ram compared to 2 on the 8/+ (rumored...not yet confirmed)
Big plus for me (and smart for apple doing this) is the optically stabilized telephoto lens on the X...as well as the telephoto being 1/3 stop faster than the 8 telephoto lens.
Larger screen (and OLED) in a smaller overall body.
Been running iOS 11 since Saturday. Build # is 15A372 which looks to be the same as what's being released today to the public. I don't think Apple's completely fixed the battery drain issue. My battery drains slightly faster than when I was on 10.3.1.

It was bad on the last public beta but appears to have been addressed. Haven't noticed as much now
One thing that the X will have is a huge battery improvement I think. If there really is a "dark mode", it will take full advantage of that OLED screen.

I have to charge my 7plus once during the daylight hours to get thru the full day
if the x can help with that with more battery will love it
The downside? You have to buy a lightning to USB-C adapter if you don't have one already. And you need the USB-C charger, which will be $50 if you're getting it from Apple, or half that from another company. Yay, more dongles and adapters!

I drank to kool aid, ordered the Type-C charger and type-c to lightning cable (needed anyways for my MBP) and a Mophie wireless charger. They got me hook line and sinker. At the end of the day though I just want quality things that will work, oh and now I will be able to fast charge my massive Anker 20100MAH battery back.

Yes, I dloaded ios 11 last night and I was super surprised this morning. Went for a run early this morn with 100% battery. Came home with 37% battery. Normally, I'd have about 80% battery left.. wut the eff.

Apple’s new Series 3 smartwatch starts shipping this Friday, and the biggest feature change between last year’s model and this new Watch is that it has built-in cellular capabilities.
Except, that cell service isn’t entirely reliable.
While writing my review of the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE capabilities, I experienced notable connectivity issues. The new Watch appeared to try to connect to unknown WiFi networks instead of connecting to cellular, when I was out and about without my phone. (The issues are laid out in much more detail in the review.)
Within the first couple days of experiencing this, Apple replaced my first review unit with a second one, but that one proved to be problematic, too.
Eventually, the company issued an official statement, acknowledging the issue. “We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular,” an Apple spokesperson said in an emailed statement. “We are investigating a fix for a future software release.”
Unfortunately, we still don’t know when that software release is expected, or exactly how it will fix the issue of the Watch connecting to cellular networks when it’s supposed to.
But as far as Apple Watch releases go, this marks the first time that Apple has acknowledged a known problem with the smartwatch just after pre-orders, and right before it officially ships.

Mine isn't that bad. Before, with a full charge, I'd have like 40% battery life at the end of a 14-16 hour day. Now it's at between 25% and 30%.
That'd be interesting on the iPhone X, you'd save some battery life by displaying black on the OLED screen. Here's an article with graphs about power savings when using dark mode in apps

Give it a couple of days, I read a post on Macrumors from someone that used to work at apple. Apparently even though it appears the update is complete there's a ton of stuff the OS is doing in the background to finish the install. It's very likely your phone was burning through battery for this very reason.
I like the new control center. You can add shortcuts at will. Now I can toggle low power mode, set an alarm, or write/check a note from the lock screen.
Do not disturb while driving is nice too.
I do miss the force touch app switching. I rarely double tapped home, this will take getting used to

I'm loving the DND while driving feature. It took me awhile to realize texting while driving was dumb but once I swore it off a couple years ago, my phone buzzing in the cup holder would drive me nuts so it's nice not to have the distraction anymore. The auto-reply is handy, too.
My only gripes with iOS 11 are slightly reduced battery life and the Bluetooth icon at the top right is black all the time now, not changing when a connection is made so I keep thinking it's connected to something when it isn't. Not sure why this made it all the way to the Golden Master without somebody realizing how silly this is. Hopefully they'll fix it.
Didn't even notice the Bluetooth thing. Who thought that was a good change?
From what I was able to surmise from the chat on Reddit and other Apple sites, it's supposed to change to a headphone logo when you hook up wireless headphones. I like Apple but this is typical of their thinking; people will only use a feature for one thing and they make said feature useless for anything but that thing. I made sure to shout at the windmill that is their feedback page. I suggest you do the same so they know at least two people don't like this stupidity.

What I want..., is DND by app selection. If I'm playing a game or processing a photo. I want everything on hold, while in those apps. I text all of the time while driving, but always handfree.
