It's so much faster than the original mini. Size/weight is good, increase is not really perceivable. Original smart cover is compatible with it. The parts of the screen that are displaying right colors look great, retina jump is so much better for reading any kind of document. I didn't get a chance to watch and videos etc last night before I feel asleep so I can't comment on the blacks. The speed is such a big leap forward.

Yep, and it's going back tonight. The bottom 1/3 rd of the screen has a weird Yellow tint. There's a bunch of people on macrumors seeing the same thing as well. I was able to reserve another one for pick up tonight so I can do the exchange. Hopefully the new one won't have the issue. Appears that the rumors about display yields were true.
But up to you if you want to wait.

Went to the apple store and exchanged, opened the new one in the store and it had the same yellowing issue. Returned it as well. Might wait a bit on this until they get their screens sorted.
I read it.....but don't see how it can be "adhesive" as there is no glue there. The ability of both screens to display white evenly was pretty brutal. I think it's an issue with the polarizing filter, if I tilt it a certain way the colour is ok at the bottom but when viewing it straight on like when your reading something its totally different than the middle or top of the screen.

you could also wait for the supply to get better so theyve been sitting in their box and have had more time to settle.
these things are literally flying out the door of the factory in china and shipped asap.
im just telling from past iPads and people bitching about them.
Also My 3rd gen had that issue but it cleared up in a day or so.

thats the issue that iPads have had in the past when they were first released. give it some time and the issue should go away.

I can't deal with it, it was way off. I've had launch day Ipads and phones before it's never been an issue so I'll just wait. I ordered one online on launch day so I'll have another one soon enough. Need to find a nice back cover that is smart cover compatible.

lol I actually got my mini that I wanted shipped today (even though it said Monday). FedEx has always been good to me.
