I would hate a multi touch display, unless it was a tablet or iphone. I already get annoyed at all the smudges.

Only thing I was interested in was the magic mouse. The other stuff seems to be older tech that should have been implemented a long time ago (minus i7 and i5).

Also, to address the multi-touch coming out on some computers. I can see how they could be useful for graphic design and such, but if I'm gonna be on it for hours I doubt I'm going to be using it.

Stunna, out of curiosity how would a touch screen be better for gaming? I could see it being good for strategy games but it would be more difficult for any sort of shooting games.

Does it have a back button? If no back button, not worth it.

Multi-touch = multi-smudge.

doubt it, it basically seems to mimic a track pad...no buttons.

the demo explains it http://www.apple.com/magicmouse/

eh. I've only had back button on one mouse and never use that one anymore. I use mouse gestures with a Firefox addon that does the same thing and is completely programmable. If I wanna go back, just hold right mouse button and move mouse briefly to the left. Very intuitive and easy to get use to, now it's hard to browse without it. I'm guessing this would be available for mac too.

Multi-touch means your hands are on the screen. You do the math.

I think the magic mouse is pretty big news. Basically giving you iphone-like navigation of your computer. Would love to see a PC-compatible model.

I don't think we will see a PC compatible model. I don't think Apple has ever made PC hardware.

It needs to work with bootcamp so doesn't that imply there are Windows drivers for the thing?

Quad core on the 2.66 ghz, I think for most users it's not worth it, but for specialized usage, it could make processing a bit faster.

I already said it wasn't my idea for the windows 7 party. I just happen to work at a place that is having one, I'm being paid to be there and drink. Sounds like fun to me! Hopefully we can get some of our good clients to upgrade which will increase business for us and MS is paying for most of the party anyways so why wouldn't we? Throw I party to help increase business and become closer with our clients and then have MS pay for it. Why would you say no to that? Exactly....

Whoever ends up getting a magic mouse post your impressions compared to the mighty mouse, I have my doubts about it's intuitiveness that they claim and am not in a hurry to jump on board.

I think they were in stores as of yesterday, not sure.

If I wasnt shooting nights right now, and on a totally fucked up schedule I would have run out and bought one.

Maybe tomorrow since I am supposed to be done for the week after tonight.

70, about the same as any any function mouse Ive looked at recently.

And no mouse is honestly worth 70 bucks...but nothing MS or Logitech has had out has interested me in any way.

The Magic mouse is perfect, because I am so used to the multi touch pad on my laptop that I have been sitting at my desktop wishing for a similar interface...

I just got my wish.

fail. That's really dumb, so now in Windows you don't even have the equivalent of a scroll wheel.
