If you dropped Android, which platform would you go to?

I have had a MotoActv for about 2 years now...its more workout oriented and not that intuitive but it still fetches my messages/etc on bluetooth, displays weather and tracks my activities...

I really like the Moto360 design concept. If it actually is high quality made I will be very interested in picking one up.

Not a fan of Samsung's smart watches, but the above ones look pretty cool.

Also looking forward to the new HTC One. My HTC One GPE is my favorite phone I've ever used (Other then the Nexus 5)

That new Moto 360 is

Droid-Life has a video of the Android Wear running on an emulator:

Apps that use the RemoteControlClient API (like AllCast) have their playback controls automatically made available on the Android Wearable device.

So, this watch is controlling playback of Cosmos from my home media server to my Chromecast via my Android phone.

I guess this is why they call it the internet of things.
https://plus.google.com/110558071969...ts/DNmzCe7kqvu

A lot of the devs say it already works with pretty much all of the media players on Android currently like Chromecast, Music apps, etc. Seems like the transition from the Android phones to the watch should be pretty seamless.

New Oppo Find 7 running their Color OS:

Snapdragon 801 at 2.5 GHz
3 GB RAM
5.5" display at 1440p resolution
538 ppi
Micro-SD card in the back
13 MP camera capable of taking 50 MP photos?

This phone looks very promising. I wonder what OnePlusOne has to offer since they've been hyping their phone line as well.

The next thing that I want out of a smart watch is the ability to leave it in my car at the park and take just the watch and my buds and go for a run. Park has wifi, so I would hope at some point it could be an option. Want to stream music and track my run.

The watches should be compatible with any smartphone as it'll pretty much read your notifications. Yesterday, Google just released the Android Developer Wear kit so developers can get an idea of how to utilize said wearable devices. LG will be supposedly making a Nexus Watch which is the square design they showed off yesterday. Motorola is making the one that's circular. I'm sure other companies will be on the bandwagon soon enough. Looks like the new frontier will be watches and other wearables now.

Assuming you meant "leave my phone in the car" - I don't see this happening.
Keep in mind battery life - My pebble's battery is a mere 130 mah!
That's 25x smaller than the one in my phone! (3610 mah).

imho the only reason smartwatches can exist at all is because of Bluetooth LE. Otherwise you'd be charging your watch twice a day, and how annoying would THAT be.

Wifi? 2G/3G? No way - not unless it's extremely thick.

In theory, since they're just using bluetooth LE to communicate, it doesn't really matter what OS either device is running to communicate, as long as you have an appropriate driver on either side.

It's not like you are going to run your phone apps on your watch. They're separate.

It's possible Google will only allow Android Wear devices to communicate with Android, but would they?

As much as it looks like a great watch, the part I love most about the Pebble is that it quietly gives you notifications. Google looks like you need to talk to it.

Ah. I don't think she does Hangouts for a living. Prob just an employee of Motorola that wanted to do it (and really wanted first dibs on the watch). You can tell she was more fascinated with actually having the watch than actually doing the Hangout lol.

I have high hopes for the new HTC One (M8). It'll likely be my next phone...unless the improvements aren't drastic. If not, I'll pull the trigger on the original M7.

Either one will be better than my Samsung Galaxy S...II.

^Really digging that gunmetal gray.

I'll reserve judgment on the dual rear cameras until I see sample images, though. Still not sold on the Ultrapixel tech...

Well since it has been confirmed Verizon stores will have it in store tomorrow if they have the 32gb and not just 16gb then I will go out over my lunch break and pick one up.

May be mine too. I really want improved battery life (even though my EVO 4G LTE usually lasts all day), and it sounds like it doesn't have the biggest battery.

More HTC One M8 vs. HTC One M7 videos:

At this point, HTC might as well cancel the presentation tomorrow. Lol. The dual camera is interesting but I'm reading different MP counts on the rear. The front at 5 MP is kinda overkill...

The M8 will have a microSD card that will most likely be capable of going up to 128 GB like the other current Android phones. Also, the M7 was only available in the 32 GB and 64 GB variants so who knows.

I can easily get about 4-6 hours of screen on time on my M7 HTC One so I think the new M8 shouldn't have any issues getting around that time especially since it'll come with an "Extreme Power Saving Mode".

HD Selfies, yo. :P

Great video, thanks for that.

I read somewhere that the duo cams were supposed to be a combined 16MP. Ah, that was too much to hope for.

I'm pretty convinced about the new HTC One. Improvement in every way it seems - although I do like the proportions of the original M7 more...the M8's bit too curvy for my tastes. BlinkFeed 1.0's scrolling animation looks more interesting than the new version, as well.
