Honestly, Apple is starting to sound like Honda in the '00s. they are riding the good will and popularity they've cultivated under a charismatic leader.
Unfortunately, his singular vision is gone. It seems Android won't have that inherent problem....the strength of its following is based on the innovation of its users. Sure, its messy at times, but its less likely lose momentum or steam.
Anyways, coming back down to the here and now: I'm due for an upgrade. I'm thinking about getting the GS3, but I have to admit that the Note 2 looks intriguing since I work from home (my phone is rarely in my pocket).

^^ Ya, I'll probably do that.
The even larger Note 2 screen might be a good thing for me. Right now I'm using a rooted Nook Color as my tablet and my Evo 4g. I find myself going between both devices pretty often. The Note 2 seems to split the difference pretty well.

Yeah I agree with his assessment and he's been the only one to call it out as it is so far. More so with the following:
Apple is starting to play it safe. Its no longer innovating but refining things which is great for the masses but the enthusiasts (like us here) will crave more. Its interesting to see where this goes but maybe that's the future for the OSes.

1. boot recovery (CWM) > advanced > wipe cache
2. reboot phone > Root Explorer > delete /data/clipbord/*
3. reboot recovery again > advanved > fix permissions
4. reboot phone > it's fine
2. reboot phone > Root Explorer > delete /data/clipbord/*
3. reboot recovery again > advanved > fix permissions
4. reboot phone > it's fine
If you can find a Clipboard app under the Settings --> Apps --> All section, try to clear the cache/data. I'm not familiar with what app Android calls on to do copy/paste but if you can find it then you can avoid the whole rooting and factory reset thing.

This thread also mentions you can try clearing out TestService under Settings --> Apps --> All.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1842468
You could try that.

One other solution:
http://www.galaxys3forum.com/galaxy3...ec83f#msg24299
Maybe it makes more sense if you have the keyboard up cause I have no clue what he's talking about. Lol. It also seems the factory reset is temporary as when the cache fills up again it'll crash. Seems like Samsung needs to bring out an update for it or you can root and clear out the data folder each time.
http://www.galaxys3forum.com/galaxy3...ec83f#msg24299
You can clear the cache with the following method
Open a keyboard in an app. Press and hold the settings button (gear icon) till a sub menu pop-up appears and select the paper and clip icon. This will open the clipboard. Press and hold a clipboard item and select delete item.

If you select the clip icon the clipboard should sit onto of the keyboard. Press and hold the text images (yellow) and select delete. I have yet to figure out how to delete the images
Update: you can delete images from the clipboard if you access the same keyboard icon from the default messaging app(white icon - Not the red one ).

when I said "GSIV around the corner" I meant 1Q or 2Q of 2013 (I think)

The S IV probably won't show up until February like it usually does and that's usually the international version as it goes out there first before it comes to the states. There have been hints that there will be 5 different Nexus devices this coming round and Black_Man_X made some hints to it last Thursday the night before the iPhone 5 launch on his twitter:
https://twitter.com/black_man_x
He's the same guy who leaked out the info on the Bionic, Galaxy Nexus and other Android Devices so he's in the know.
Twas the night before launch day and all through the webs.. there wasn't a sound to be heard cept camped out nerds.. #newnexuspoem
Their chargers all plugged into borrowed mall slots.. as visions of new maps took them to the wrong spots.. #osnap
With features both new and those borrowed a bit.. that lightening plug will surely fit.. But what of those that claim team green for life?
Those that maps lead them to bld44? Oh What do those googlers have in store?
Is it Moto sourced or LG's line.. and will Sammy lose another billion this time? #pandalorax
The Gnex was nice and the 7 's a beast.. but the Q admittedly was no strong feat..
The trick is to take all the lessons learned. Branch the tree and give several a turn. One for the Geek? One for the mom?
So who might these leaves be? a Japanese brand with plenty of play? a Korean that knows quite well the PDK?
This the panda will share with great delight.. just as soon as this apple store opens, cause I can't lose my spot.. #hangouttime
What's up everyone.. quick check in. Busy weekend so guess I will finish that poem Monday. Enjoy your weekend !

Not sure if you guys saw this the other day but Matias Duarte made a comment on his G+ stating that he was only 1/3 of the way of where he wants Android to be at its current state:
https://plus.google.com/114892667463...ts/NWdbD1AmyTA
Really looking forward to what else he can incorporate from WebOS into Android.
It's true, we still have a lot of work to do. Personally I feel like I've gotten only about a third of the way to where I want to be with regards to consistency, responsiveness, and polish.
Better get back to work!

I've seen some comparisons made with the leaked JB on the S3 and iPhone 5 but they all fail to mention that those builds aren't 100%. Samsung usually leaks those builds out for XDA to find bugs and they leave a lot of debugging things on which slow it down somewhat. The Nexus may be almost a year old but it sure does hold its own and Jelly Bean is just awesome all around.

ohh i really hope sony gets one FOR TMOBILE THOUGH, I dont think tmobile had any previous sony phones....

I think its just cause its old, running out of breath. Maybe one of my drops could have affected it? Dunno if that can do something like that.
Then there's also JB has more things going on so its gotta handle more too
I'm just hoping tmobile gets at least one nexus device!!!!

Yeah my Galaxy S is feeling the same way. The XDA guys are actually having a debate on how to place CM10 on the phone because Samsung used different SD chips on the Galaxy S. Apparently, the earlier built Galaxy S phones are using a slower MoviNAND chip while later built Galaxy S phones are using a faster iNAND chip so it kinda splits the devices into two different performing phones. I, unfortunately, have the slower NAND chip so I've actually downgraded my Galaxy S onto stock Gingerbread TouchWiz since its a backup phone. It also allows me to use the Live TV mirror functionality on my girlfriend's Samsung TV when I bring it with me. Lol.

Yes. Lots in the Play Store:
WidgetLocker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ZXRsb2NrZXIiXQ..
MagicLocker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...dpY2xvY2tlciJd
GoLocker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...NyZWVubG9jayJd
There's plenty more but those are the main ones. Each have their own Themes you can download separately and customize. If you have Root, you can do even more. Also, MIUI has a pretty robust Theming system which includes the Lockscreen being very modifiable.

^It shouldn't be too far off. Poland just got their official JB update today:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/09...g-with-poland/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1646610
If anyone has the international version, XDA probably has a flashable update ready for you. The US variants will probably get one unofficially since Qualcomm has been good with open sourcing their stuff.
Samsung also published a list of devices that are going to get Jelly Bean:

^^^ I think the SII and SII LTE were supposed to be SIII and SIII LTE....i dont think the S2 had LTE, did it ?
#5955

SIII is not on the list because its already starting to get the update. Poland started today. It will roll out along the EU in the next few days and then to Canada. The US will eventually get it but that's probably up to the carrier's discretion. There are leaks available at XDA though if you want to go that route which have most everything already working so right now its probably in the carrier's hands for testing so they can add their bloatware. If your phone is starting to get slow and glitchy, a factory reset will do wonders. Usually an OTA fails to remove the old stuff and makes it buggy. A factory reset will help in that scenario. Also another reason why I root my phones and flash whatever ROMs I want.

Edit: CG beat me to it! But yeah, I think I remember reading that Tmobile has a leaked JB version you can flash (if you're on Tmobile)... ATT will likely be the last carrier to get the release because of all the stupid ATT bloatware they have to integrate.

Certain versions of the S3 already has Jelly Bean updates, so it's probably a moot point to put on the list of phones that are going to get Jelly Bean.

Here's JB in action on the AT&T S3:
There are probably some bugs but XDA will always have the leaks available if you want to try them out.

^ Man I really want JB... just for the Google Now feature.
But the LH9 OTA was a minor bug update only - I was excited to see my phone prompting me for an update last week... but was bummed to see it was only an 85 mb download.
