What a great game. Was getting very nervous after those two very long drives by the Pats.

I've not heard of any other teams getting caught for it, but the numbers sure are telling, no?

Was a pretty good game up to the end. Used to think Eli was a 2nd tier QB, but think he is definitely in Brady/Rodger's league in terms of game management... I still think the Giants have better offensive weapons and one of the best WR cores so

And for those that think Tom Brady sucks, are you telling me that you weren't stressed out when the Pats let Bradshaw score to give Brady 1:08 left in the game for a TD drive?

I was watching with a bunch of Giant's fans and they all ripped on Bradshaw on that final TD - you can tell he realized too late that he should eat up more time and stumbles in backwards

No other teams were punished as the Pats, because they did it one too many times. But all teams did this and the league sent notice to all teams to stop doing it. Pats tried it one more time and was caught.

I laugh when people throw spygate all the time. It never happened in the SB.

It is because back than, the Patriots had a balanced team. Decent rushing game, good receivers, and a killer defense.

So if all of you are going to bash any team, get the facts straight thanks.

And I do agree, the 49ers really had a good chance to win it all. A couple big mistakes in that NFC game really fucked them up, same with the Texans against Ravens. :/

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said, I am just glad it was a great game. While I didn't have a horse in the race I did see myself slightly rooting for the Pats, Eli just bugs me and I can't root for the guy. In the Giants case, sometimes its better to be lucky than good, but nonetheless, they made good teams play uncharacteristically and won the ultimate prize, congrats to them.

Now I am sad that the season is over.

I love the Super Bowl. Had a great time with a BBQ at my house with family and friends. My chef friend made some picanha and grilled brussel sprouts, squash, and other veggies. We drank pisco sours and caipirinhas and tons of beer. We played Rock Band and Rocksmith pre-Super Bowl and my 5 year old was the hit singing songs. We all laughed for the commercials and saw a great competitive game. Truly a great time!

A question worth revisiting is who won the Giants-Chargers trade that sent Eli Manning to New York? Unless there is a major surprise, Andrew Luck will be selected with the first overall pick. The St. Louis Rams have the second pick and coach Jeff Fisher recently said his team is open to trading the pick to the highest bidder. That pick can be used to select [Robert Griffin III]. So what would it cost the Dolphins to rise from No. 8 or No. 9, depending on a coin toss, to No. 2? A lot. It will take at least two first round picks and probably closer to three first round picks. And it might actually take this years No. 1, next year's No. 1, the 2014 No. 1 and possibly something else like a third or fifth rounder thrown in there.
From the Miami Herald. Obviously just speculation, but

I can't see anybody paying that.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...per-punishment

The NFL announced on Friday that 22 to 27 defensive players on the New Orleans Saints maintained a bounty program during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons that targeted opponents with an intent to injure. A lengthy investigation found that payments were administered by then-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who now serves the same role with the St. Louis Rams. At the height of this "pay for performance" program during the Saints' Super Bowl run in the 2009 playoffs, payouts might have reached a staggering $50,000.

What kind of punishment should the NFL dole out to the Saints organization, Gregg Williams and any other players/coaches involved?

Mostly draft picks and suspensions. I'm wondering what will happen to Sean Payton. Similar to Joe Pa's case (not as severe of course), but I'd suspect some damage his way (possibly his job?).

Holy crap, never saw this hit on Manning. Ex-coach Dungy says he feels like this was the root of Manning's neck problems.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...ams-redskins-d

Just looks gruesome. Gregg Williams was the D coordinator of the Skins at the time.... I'm also worried now since he's coaching for the Rams.

Goodell likes to make examples out of people. I predict the hammer is gonna come down hard.

It would only be fitting to have a lockout.
