I really don't follow pro football. But I just saw on ESPN's site that the Giants (World Champs) were 9-7 and Green Bay were 15-1.
And people think a playoff system will help the NCAA.

Oh thank god. The football season has been salvaged. The Patriots didn't win the Super Bowl. Now I don't have to see a million bandwagon fans walking around sporting their fresh of the shelf Tom Brady jerseys. I didn't really care who won today...as long as it wasn't the Patriots.

I don't get the Tom Brady hate. Patriots themselves, maybe.... I've heard the term Belicheat thrown around quite a bit, and I don't respect that part.
But Eli Manning comes off as a pretentious, entitled brat to me so doesn't matter how many championships he wins, he'll always come off to me as "waahhh, wahhh, I'm too good for San Diego"
If the Giants won three SBs in a decade or less they'd have bandwagon fans as well. They're actually well on their way now...

Credit will be given where it is due though - to the Giants.
I wouldn't have cared who won if it was the Patriots and some other random NFC team but since it was Eli, I kinda wanted the Patriots to win. No big deal either way, I didn't win or lose a cent due to the result. I don't like Brady or dislike him but I definitely respect him.

I thought for a second he caught that last pass off of everybody's hands...just a step or two closer. Will be burned into his mind forever I'm sure.

I just have absolutely no respect for people that fall into this category. They are not the true fans. A true fan has a team they watch every Sunday and root for them win or lose. They don't throw in the towel and decide it's easier to ride another team just because they want to watch "their" team win.
I feel the same way about the Packers, Yankees, Red Sox, Lakers, Celtics...People who are LEGITIMATE fans of these teams know who they are and they should understand where I'm coming from and not take offense to this. People who are the bandwagon idiots that follow these teams around until they stop winning and then move on to the next great thing know who they are too and should know that they deserve no respect.

Currently, each team's 16-game regular season schedule is set using a pre-determined formula:
* Each team plays the other three teams in their division twice: once at home, and once on the road (six games).
* Each team plays the four teams from another division within its own conference once on a rotating three-year cycle: two at home, and two on the road (four games).
* Each team plays the four teams from a division in the other conference once on a rotating four-year cycle: two at home, and two on the road (four games).
* Each team plays once against the other teams in its conference that finished in the same place in their own divisions as themselves in the previous season, not counting the division they were already scheduled to play: one at home, one on the road (two games).
This schedule was designed so all teams will play each other at least once in a four-year span, and will play in every other team's stadium at least once in an eight-year span. It also guarantees that regardless of a given team's final divisional placement in the previous season, the 16 games that team plays in this current season will consist of:
* four games against opponents who finished the previous season in first place in their respective divisions,
* four games against opponents who finished the previous season in second place in their respective divisions,
* four games against opponents who finished the previous season in third place in their respective divisions, and
* four games against opponents who finished the previous season in fourth place in their respective divisions.
* Each team plays the other three teams in their division twice: once at home, and once on the road (six games).
* Each team plays the four teams from another division within its own conference once on a rotating three-year cycle: two at home, and two on the road (four games).

I used to think the same thing about him for years, but later in his career he moved into a neutral likeness to me. Same with Coughlin and the Giants. They just do their jobs and you don't hear much else from them: no bashing teammates that don't deserve it, no blaming others for their mistakes, no bragging, etc. (or maybe they do and I don't hear about it) Everybody went nuts when he answered that he was an elite QB...of course he would answer yes! It's called confidence!
I'm not really a fan of either of them or the Giants, but I don't mind seeing them win. There's no hate like I have for the Jets, Ravens, and many others

when I was at the airport last week I took notice and saw a couple of Brady jerseys, a Tebow jersey, and an Eli jersey (in California)
I hate those people as well.
I live in northern California and I know a few people that root for the Bulls, Eagles, Packers, Lakers.... etc. and there are many Cowboys fans. The ironic thing is it's those people who are the most outspoken and talk the most trash.
It's not so much the Patriots or Tom Brady that I hate. I just can't stand all of the bandwagon wannabe fans that sport their gear around. 10 years ago you would be pretty hard pressed to find a Patriots fan outside of Boston. Back then they were an easy win on any halfway decent team's schedule and only the true New England fans cheered for them. Now, after they've won a few recent Super Bowls and make the playoffs every season, you can't hardly walk a block in any city in America without seeing some loser wearing his fresh off the shelf Patriots gear. Unless you were born in the New England area or Tom Brady is your uncle I don't want to hear about how they are your favorite team.
I just have absolutely no respect for people that fall into this category. They are not the true fans. A true fan has a team they watch every Sunday and root for them win or lose. Well, congrats to the G-Men. Eli comparing himself to Brady's caliber earlier? Valid.

Manningham's catch was WTF-worthy...and Welker's drop was also a shock given how reliable he is.
I call it karma for all the cheating Belicheat did in the past.

Pats would've won the game with the final pass if Tebow was their QB...

Great catch, but an even better pass. That was even Eli's first read.. once he looks left he immediately launches the ball 38 yards down field into double coverage and it drops into Manningham's hands, full-stride, where neither defender can make a play on it. Bea-fucking-utiful.
