Overrated? Hardly...

No one has given them much chance this year with that O-line and WR corp...The fact they are over .500 right now is a success IMO.

If the Patriots could play the first and fourth quarters like the second and third they would be pretty damn impressive

Right before Bailey booted what would have been a game-winner, Garrett snatched victory away by pulling a Mike Shanahan on his own guy. But why?

"Just because we felt like the play clock was running down. Just wanted to make sure he had a real clean opportunity at it," Garrett said. "It was at about 6 (seconds), and we were still getting settled in, so we banged a timeout just to give him an opportunity to get the snap off and kick as clean as possible."

Predictably, you know what happened on Bailey's second attempt.

Any second-guessing Garrett might have been experiencing, he didn't reveal to reporters.

"I think the biggest thing you try to do is you try to evaluate the situation, how you handled it and why you made that decision," Garrett said. "If you get in that situation again, maybe you handle it the exact same way, maybe you do something differently."

The latter probably would work best. Icing your own kicker rarely, if ever, ends well.

If the Eagles fire Andy Reid, Jerry Jones better swoop him up quick.

Sanchez gets the same grief. The only stat that matter are wins and losses. If style points are so important to some then follow figure skating or gymnastics.

stats dont always matter, but when it becomes an offensive battle, it helps.

id rather have a QB that i know can put up 4-500 yards in a game.

You can have a QB that throws for 400 yards and they get shut out.

only cam newton and the panthers can accomplish that.

you wont shut out rodgers, brees, brady etc.
also, they know how to score on top of being statistical freaks.

Not shutouts, but the Packers have given up 400 yards to quite few QBs this season....

And they won those games bc Rodgers put up the same numbers or better.

Packers would not be 12-0 without those meaningless stats.

Both. He is a poor passer (he is getting better each week though). He does put the team in position to win the in the 4th quarter, but not after his defense (yes the D didn't do as well last game, but the other 5 wins they did) and McGahee has held a close lead. I'm still waiting on the day the Patriots play them with a mediocre defense. I want him to shred the Pats defense and I will see if he can carry his offense pass the Pats offense. Like I said, there is no denying Tebow's will and leadership, but as a QB you have to do everything. Look at Rodgers, that guy is a beast (I know we're comparing apple and oranges), but this guy can run if need to be and can throw to anyone even in tight coverage. Tebow has only thrown when he had a wide-open receiver, rarely in tight coverage (hence the no interceptions-- which is good, but not good at the same time).

Tebow made big plays when they needed it. That's what a good qb does. He may not be the most accurate, but he wins games.....and that's what a good qb does.
A good leader wins games, a good QB never gives you a chance. Just like I said above, Tebow is a great leader, not a great QB. Rodgers, Brady, Manning (Peyton of course) is an example of great QBs/Leaders.

Yeah, but you guys are still young. Playoff contenders for the next few years.

All this bitching that he isn't a QB, Dilfer wasn't much of a QB, but he has a Super Bowl ring, because he did his job and had a great defense. Tebow is on the field being paid to be a professional QB, in the elite league for football. That's a QB, not a person on a forum claiming to know all about what a QB is.

im just sitting back and waiting for the funny...

as soon as they play a team that puts up high offensive numbers and points, they will lose... as they did against the lions a few weeks back.

you think denver is going to win games against teams like green bay, new england, new orleans teams that all have over 40 TD's this season.

they've played one team with a high TD #'s in the last 6 games... and it was detroit, and they got raped, and yes with jesus starting.

We can say that for a lot of teams this year. It's a team game, and if you have a QB that's just good enough to win you a few games, and a stingy defense that will get you a few more, you've got a shot.

Cam Newton may be your ROY. Team is 4-8. No one has ever said Alex Smith should be 10-2, but they are.

i dislike both of those quarterbacks equally (as you can imagine they both had beef with my LSU team in recent years)

but my opinion... you put cam newton on the broncos team, they win those same games, and win them bigger.

put tebow on the panthers, and not only do they lose the same games, but lose more of them.

It's possible. It's also not relevant, because it's purely speculative. It's like saying Ryan Leaf might not have been a flameout if he was drafted by the Colts. There's lots of things an individual can control, but more so that's related to the team, the management, the coaches, the system and the environment.

The only thing that really matters is they are in first place, with only one really tough game remaining.
