Without Shaq, the Pistons would have swept them. If LeBron had someone like Shaq on his team, the heat wouldn't stand a chance.

bulls led the league in opponents fg% doom...i believe 2 years in a row also. bringing in pj brown should help a little offensively, atleast better than chandler could do.
and doom, just about everyone is saying the bulls are #2 in the east now. cavs are definately not better, and the nets are close. i forget, but the bulls might have dominated the nets in the regular season last year...or maybe it was the other way around

Nice move, Pax!

Tyson Chandler said he knew his days as a Bull were numbered as soon as Ben Wallace agreed to join the Bulls.
"It was just a matter of when and where," Chandler said early Wednesday evening when he was reached by phone in California.
After five seasons with the Bulls, Chandler is being traded to the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets for P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith.
Chandler said early in the week his agent told him a trade was imminent.
"At first I was walking around a little sick," he said. "Even though I had heard the rumors, it was definitely a shock. I was definitely sad. After a couple of nights of thinking about it, I realized basketball-wise, it's a good thing for me.
"It's a great basketball opportunity to play with a bunch of young, up-and-coming guys. That's the thing I'm excited about. They're moving the team in a direction that fits me well. I can help a team make the playoffs. I'll get a chance to play with a great, young point guard (Chris Paul). "
Chandler was the last Bull remaining from former general manager Jerry Krause's regime. Chandler said he was grateful to Krause and current boss John Paxson.
"I'm sad to leave a great organization," he said. "The organization has been great to me. They gave me a great opportunity. Jerry Krause drafted me and John Paxson has been nothing but honest and loyal."
Krause acquired Chandler straight out of Dominguez High School in 2001 along with Thornwood High's Eddy Curry, now with the Knicks. They were dubbed the Baby Bulls. Curry departed last summer in a sign-and-trade with New York.
Last summer Chandler received a six-year deal worth a little more than $60 million. He is owed $54 million.
The Bulls are trading him, in part, to protect themselves from luxury tax issues in the future. They will sign Wallace to a four-year deal worth $60 million.
Wallace's deal and the Chandler trade will become official July 12.
"I'm going to miss the city of Chicago," Chandler said. "There are loyal, great fans. From when I arrived and we won only 21 games to our playoff runs, the fans were great."

I don't see the Bulls getting that much better, they still have to put the ball in the basket. The Nets got better with their picks. We'll see paper don't mean nada it happens on the court. Until someone knocks them off Miami is still #1

I keep hearing the Bulls lead the league in FG% even on the radio. Why can't I find the link???
And Bulls fans. Think you're excited now? I hear rumors of a certain top PF from Minnesota getting traded to you. If that's the case, then you guys easily are #2.

I doubt that the wolves will trade Garnett.
And the link is here, you're just looking in the wrong place. Look at the opponents fg %, not the bulls one. It's .426

Not that I want to beat a dead horse, but this analogy was used to describe the Ben Wallace deal and it's pretty funny.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/060707
And Ben Wallace (26) went from being wildly underpaid and underrated to wildly overpaid and overrated in the blink of an eye. Just check his regular-season and playoff stats, for God's sake. He peaked two or three years ago.
(That reminds me, am I the only one who thought Chicago wasted much of its cap space for two extra rebounds per game, a mild defensive upgrade and the ongoing comedy of a Buckwheat-caliber afro? Congratulations, you get to play four-on-five for the next four years in a league where every rule adjustment favors teams that can score. Why not just keep Chandler for two-thirds the price? Instead, they overpaid for Wallace and gave away Chandler for a washed-up P.J. Brown and a draft bust that New Orleans was trying to dump? I don't get it. This is like Paramount Pictures signing William H. Macy to a four-picture, $60 million deal -- sure, he's a great actor, but that doesn't mean you pay him like a superstar. They will eventually regret this one almost as much as Wallace probably regrets filming that T-Mobile commercial that made him seem whipped.)

Tyson Chandler averaged more fouls per game than ppg during the playoffs. He had no offense and he could not defend at all (not just against Shaq.) He was a bust, and Ben Wallace (did I mention he has won the DPOY award 4 times in the last 5 years) will improve the Bulls. Getting rid of Chandler's big contract was one of the best things Paxson could do. If anything, his game has gotten worse since he came out of high school. If you don't agree, just wait until next season. And don't feel so threatened
What did Tyson bring to the Bulls?
Not enough minutes
Foul Trouble - for someone with such a weak offensive game, you'd expect Chandler to have his act together on the other end.
What will Ben bring to the Bulls?
Defense
Minutes
Rebounds
PRESENCE
Experience
Someone to tutor Tyrus Thomas
Steals
Athleticism
Chandler couldn't catch a pass if they had tried to walcro the ball to his hand.
FYI, Chicago finished with the 3rd best record in the East 2 years ago with mostly people who had just gotten out of college, or who should still be in college. Last year they didn't have a legitimate center, this year they have an All Star center on top of all the experience people like Ben Gordon, Hinrich, Nocioni and Deng (first playoffs) have gathered. Their rotation will be a lot more solid too. Pretty much every expert has said that they will contend in the east. If you don't believe so, then you really must know nothing about basketball. Which then leads me to believe that you're a fair weather fan.

FastAcura. Shut up already. I only brought it up because I thought it was funny. Calling gigantic Ben Wallace whipped and comparing his career to William H. Macy is funny. I was already done arguing over this moot, premature opinion. Note my post where I laughed how we're talking about this 2 days into free agency. You get so defensive when I bring up a joke. Get a life kid.

I guess technically it'd be a good trade for the clips, but those are my two favorite guys on the team.
w/ tim thomas coming, and sam cassel staying, that would be a pretty good team, but i'd still rather watch maggette and livingston. maybe give em' cat and ross and some of those other guys that never play

potentially an interesting trade, it certainly will draw media and fan base to the clippers, but with AI and cassell on the floor together, are they a better team? can they co-exist???
