Nuggets-Knicks brawl ends with 10 players ejected
Ten players, including NBA scoring leader Carmelo Anthony, were ejected for fighting during a wild brawl near the end of Saturday night's game between the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks.
All 10 players on the court at the time were tossed for their involvement in the ugly incident that spread across the court and spilled into the crowd at Madison Square Garden.
Anthony scored 34 points before the melee took place with about 1:15 left in the Nuggets' 123-100 victory over the Knicks.
The fight started after Knicks reserve Mardy Collins flagrantly fouled Denver's J.R. Smith. With punches being thrown by several players, the hitting and grabbing continued for several minutes before coaches and security ran onto the court and finally restored order.
Anthony was involved in a fight with the Knicks' Nate Robinson, who jumped into to jaw at Smith after the foul. Both Smith and Robinson ended up flying into the stands in the NBA's ugliest scene since the brawl between Pacers players and Detroit fans in 2004.
With each team forced to put five new players on the floor, Denver finished up the win and ended a two-game losing streak. Marcus Camby had 24 points and nine rebounds, and Andre Miller added 12 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets.

The Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement in principle with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire Allen Iverson, according to NBA front-office sources.
The trade, pending league approval, some two weeks after Iverson demanded a trade in Philly, would send Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks to the Sixers for Iverson and perhaps another minimum-salaried player or two. It was expected to be completed later Tuesday barring any snags. -ESPN
This really dissapoints me as i wanted him on the wolves.. but i dont think AI will like it there once JR and melo are back.. i just cant see it working out

Two guys who need to dominate the ball to be successful.......hmmmm
I am wondering about this one, jury is out big time...............in my opionion Denver was a bad option.
KG and AI would do better since KG tends to differ to teammates and actually pass the ball.
Plus with his rebounding KG doesn't need to scores as much to be in the flow of the game.

i wanted to see AI go too minnesota just for KG's sake.
it'll be interesting to see how carmelo adapts his style of play. i actually believe that AI can be willing to share the load on offense. it's just he's never had those kinds of teammates before in philly. i thought he was one of the better "teammates" in the olympics.

AI will fit in just fine... after all the only reason he's been a 1st option for 10+ years is b/c the lame a$$ front office of the Sixers never had enough balls to pull of a deal to bring a 1st option to the team. W/ the exception of Mutumbo and Old Man Webber we never made any deals!!! Now the world is gonna get to see the real AI... I can't wait!!!

Really doesn't matter who takes more shots...though I'd suspect AI will have a larger dropoff than Melo. The important thing is how many quality shots the tandem creates (both for themselves and the other three on the court). With AI off the dribble able to score himself, pass to Melo or pass to another potion, there should be *someone* getting a very good look at the basket.
I'd forsee AI taking less shots, but shooting at a much better % than before...what will reduce his PPG will be less free throws cause he won't always look to finish every play himself.

We got a monster trade here to get AI to Denver! The Nuggets plays a very up-tempo pace; I'm sure both of them will get their shots (There is to much banter about meshing, winning games makes everyone happy). When we get Kenyon Martin back next year, I think we have a legitimate shot at the title now!

Lookout Southeast Conference
Former Los Angeles Lakers power forward Slava Medvedenko went through a private workout with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday and made a favorable impression. If the Hawks decide to sign Medvedenko, they'd have to waive someone.
Medvedenko played in two games for the Lakers last season before suffering a season-ending back injury. He was waived late in the season.
