So Bogut's moving to Center? I liked Magloire. Why the move?

The Knicks?

I don't think my reply needs red texts since it's absolutely absurd.

Hello mods?

Why are we using last year's thread for this year's season? It's time to close this one and start the new one. That's why I lead off.

man i sure hope this'll be the year for the lakers. if kobe can really shine and his teammates cooperate with him i think they'll be a dominating team. i am still a huge nets fan, but kidd and carter are showing their age... hopefully some of their teammates will be able to step up bigtime and they'll still be a team to contend with. i think that we'll see a great year from the nuggets, especially from melo who i think progressed quite a bit during his time in the WIBA championship... and of course from wade, who i think can surpass kobe sooner than later

this should be a good year for NBA. also IMO detroit has been de-fanged. brown may be back but... they also had some big losses in their team chemistry. wallace will be hard to replace

anyone buying league pass? im gonna put in my order anyday now

I don't get it. What's the big deal of making an 06 thread if we have an NFL, NFL Fantasy, MLB, and college football 06 thread?

Sure. Why don't you just start a new thread and call it the Official 2006 Basketball thread then...?

I did that. Thus my post above about the Heat defending the title. It got merged. I understand they want to maintain cleanliness in the forum but isn't that why they opened the sports forum. I don't mean to be a PITA. I'm a senior mod somewhere else. And I welcome constructive criticism. I've had some ideas that I flat out refused but then read counterpoints and changed my vote. Props to the AZ Mods.

The Rockets will win make alot of noise this year. As long as Tmac and Yao stay healthy I see them finishing no less than 3rd in the West.

I love going back to read posts like this. The "donut" offense just beat the defending champions by 42. I know it's just the first game, but 42 points at home??? And that's with Gordon (bulls' best scorer) going 1 for 9.

You keep saying he's an inside presence but you guys will still have a donut offense. At least Chandler can score but Ben obviously can't. If you get PJ Brown to start at PF in that Chandler trade or inconsistent Deng then that's not enough to keep defenses honest.

How is that? There are other PGs out that get paid more...sure, Hinrich may not be as talented as some, but he still puts in 15-20 PPG, hustles, passes, and plays D better than the "talented" ones.

I think he's worth it. And you may laugh, but I see some Steve Nash in him...and I think he can reach that potential one day.

:wtf: Kirk is one of the best point guards in the NBA, just not as flashy as some others so he doesn't end up on sportcenter's top 10 list. He's one of the those players that you can count on EVERY night to bring his A game.

Bulls lose to the Magic. Since we're judging season by early regular season games stick a fork in them. Orlando to the Finals after scoring 59% FG% on Da Bulls.

Went to the wolves game tonight, pretty good game. I heard a couple people yelling at Eddie Griffin, things like "JERK OFF" "NOT A BENTLEY!" etc.

We're not "judging the season," but according to you, the Bulls don't have a chance against Miami, and then they blow them out by 42 points on their home court I don't care what game it is, if they can blow them out by 42 points, you can't say that can't beat them in the playoffs. We're talking about professional basketball here, not a high school game.

Losing to Orlando (especially on their court) can happen to any team. That has nothing to do with the fact that the Bulls can handle Miami. You're getting a little off topic here. I thought we were discussing how O'Neal (7 points) owns Ben Wallace... I guess PJ Brown was a little too much for him then? Or was it that block by the rookie Tyrus Thomas?

I hope you don't really believe that the Heat with a rusty O'Neal will win another championship. They looked like a bunch of old guys waiting for retirement. Heck, even the Cavaliers have a better chance of winning this year. Did you see those dirty plays by Payton and Posey against the Bulls' 2nd and 3rd stringers?

The Bulls didn't have the intensity last night against Orlando, but they still managed to lose by "only" (relatively speaking) 15 points.
