Baseball (Ken Burns documentary)
For those interested, apparently they're playing each "inning" (chapter) of this documentary every Sunday on PBS.
I happened to see it yesterday as they were talking about the 20's, next week is the 30's, week after is 40's, etc. I assume they're playing all the chapters.
Not sure how local broadcasting and all that crap works, but if you remember I'd check it out. Never knew half the stuff about Babe Ruth until yesterday

on to the next one...
I watched most of that game and, honestly, I was routing for Humber to throw a no-no.
Today's starting line-up:
D. Span, CF - .312
A. Casilla, SS - .179
J. Kubel, DH - .349
J. Morneau, 1B - .224
M. Cuddyer, RF - .244
D. Valencia, 3B - .220
R. Tosoni, LF - .500 (2 AB)
S. Holm, C - .133
L. Hughes, 2B - .270
We are officially a AA team.

Well, I see the Cubbies and ChiSox are already in their mid-season swoon.
Thank goodness I still have NBA basketball with the Bulls. They better not get eliminated.

Three Wheelin'
Awesome game Phils/Marlins (Halladay/Johnson). Phils doomed themselves with miscues and missed opportunities. Hopefully Lee can pitch just as well tonight and we can take 2 out of 3 from the Fishies.

Explaining the rise in shutouts
Very telling article on the offensive futility in the league these day.

God knows with only 124 games left the Yankees are done.
WTF is this BS:
"As the Yankees slide in the standings and botch handling Jorge Posada, the Rays are perched atop the AL East. Scott Miller says the fresh legs and smarts in Tampa beat the snot out of New York's blue bloods".
The Rays have lost 2 in a row, they are beneficiaries of the Yankees sucking which I am certain will pass.

Even though Dusty tried blowing yesterday's game, we completed the sweep
Friday was the second game in a row I've seen the Reds beat the Cards on the last play of the game
I know it's still early, but I think the Cards have way too many issues to win the Central this year...they have some major holes in their defense.

Harmon Killebrew Passes Away
A terribly sad day today for anyone who considers themself a Twins fan.
I'm too young to have ever seen him play, but he has been my favorite Twin for as long as I can remember. His jersey will hang proudly in my office until the end of time...
