better teams... well AL teams of course, that is fact.
Also, i'm not going to go the trouble of compiling another list, but of the next 30 players, 15 are in the NL. So 33 of the top 60 players so far this year are in the NL.

I'm not saying the NL has better or worse teams, I'm saying the talent is equal, if not better, in the NL.

Of course AL teams are going to be better during interleague play, their rosters are geared to have a DH, NL teams don't have the extra big bat getting 4 turns per game.

it has nothing to do with opinion.

Those ranking are based on a points system.

Got anything else?

their point system obviously sucks. where is matsui on the list? he is only one of the hottest hitters in MLB right now.

no point in arguing with a typical stubborn mets fan. lol.

Yea, i'm stubborn. You're the one arguing numbers.

It's a simple point system based on a 5X5 rotisserie fantasy baseball league.

2 things and I'm totally staying out of this argument:

1) Fantasy vs reality are 2 different animals. Unless they consider OBP, BAA, and defense in the fantasy calculations, then defining "better" league is debatable between comparing fantasy and reality. You guys should clarify that.

2) Why not find a list of team power rankings for each team. combine the teams in each league's power ranking figure rather than break down the players.

To me, what you just said sounds more like a balanced league. Some may prefer a league with a few overpowering teams and many poor teams, that's fine. Me, I prefer a league where all the teams are balanced and the competition is greater.

Just because the NL has a couple bad teams, doesn't mean the league is overall worse. Seattle is a terrible. So is KC.
My point is that some NL lineups like the Pirates and Nationals have weak spots all through them with nary a star hitter. This makes NL pitchers look better. Also pitching to the opposing pitcher makes a guy look good.

Berkman and Chipper Jones are probably the hottest hitters in either league, but there are some really bad pitchers out there too serving them up. Now that Chipper has had to face the Angels and Rangers his average has dropped to .400. And their teams are both below .500. In fact only 6 of the 16 NL teams are over .500.

The best measure is interleague play and we'll have to wait another month to see what happens.

^ while i agree with a lot of what you say, chipper also got a contusion directly under his eye. i'm sure that helped drop his average a bit.

I don't put a lot of merit into a teams record as a sign of poor talent. If the Yankees and Boston played eachother all season long, and they both came out with .500 records at the end of it, it doesn't mean either team is bad, it just means they are balanced.

Quentin > Bradley for OF

Matsui > Drew for OF

Mauer > Posada for C (come on, man)

Otherwise, looks good.

I've never heard of any of those NL guys.

The Pirates and Nationals are absolutely horrible.

Minnesota sweeps with a combined score of 22-6. The Twins are frankly pretty average.

Chicago sweeps with a combined score of 37-14. The White Sox are slightly above average.

I don't know how Bud Selig can be proud of this.

And to illustrate AL dominance, the pitiful Royals sweep the mighty Cardinals, only giving up 4 total runs at Busch Stadium.

you forgot...

yankees sweep houston with a combined score of 23-5
yankees sweep san diego with a combined score of 18-6

let's see how the yankees do against a good NL team with the cardinals series.

agreed on all parts, even as a yankee fan, i can't throw posada in there right now since he has been out a huge chunk of the season. i also don't really like him as a catcher.

I f'ed up with Posada. I thought I scanned through first picking Posada and then went to change Mauer. I guess it didn't go take.

I picked Bradley because at this time his BA is .330 vs .271. OBP is .452 to .382 and SLG is .682 to .530. He only has 2 less HR and 8 less RBI and the same amount of runs. I was really sold on the consistent hitting. Quentin had a slump going until he hit a HR 2 days ago but let's see if he picks back up.

Matsui over Drew (come on, man )

Fuck that..! In order to have 16 straight years without being .500 takes Alot of skill and careful planning.. And 8 straight after telling the taxpayers "build us a stadium and we'll be competitive."

You can put it on mute, YES!

Cubs should take 2-3 here and prove everyone that what happened in TB was just a bad streak.

My friends and I go to the Yellow Line station in Skokie (we have someone drive us in anticipation of the following activities), drink heavily on our "water bottle" Vodkas, get hammered before the Addison stop on the Red Line, get off and buy some "cheap" tickets, walk/stumble around until gametime, and go enjoy the game. It's a fun time

Well I need not even argue with that, and I'm sure you've already been embarrassed enough with your "1st place Sox" getting swept clean by the actual Chicago team so I shall spare you of more pain.

I myself have 3 LETTERS for you:

Cubs sweep the Sox, Illinois beats Wisconsin, what's next?
