Lopez sucks this year. I had him as my catcher and I dropped his ass. I guess the market is thin.

It's not just the market... Our catcher got hurt after the trading deadline

So that limits who you can go after becuse players have to suck enough so that they won't be picked up on waivers by another club

Waiver deals are always interesting...

I hope the White Sox put together a run or else they won't even have a chance to get to the playoffs and defend their title

I know there are Yankees fans here, but you guys don't need anymore championships for awhile you got 26!

That is why I wish the White Sox should've traded for 1 more pitcher or hitter

Beltran hits 3 doubles and ties Mets record. The guy is an animal and gets better in the playoffs. Be afraid AL teams, very afraid...

I really hope the Yanks lose a few games to get annoyed and put a streak on in September, there are still about 50 games left and I would hate for them to burn out before the playoffs. Great game last night but with all the chances the score should of been like 11-10. On a good note Cano looked great, A-Rod had a couple of clutch hits and Farnsworth pitched a great 8th to hand it over to Mariano and he blew it. Chicago's bullpen blows just as bad but Jenks was the man. Thank you Kansas City

In Interleague play, the Mets scared no one in the AL going a SUPERIOR 6-9...

The only scary teams are the ones from the AL (Detroit, NY, Boston, Chicago, Minny). And honestly, against any of those 5, I don't see how the Mets could beat them. Big whoop Beltran can hit a few and maybe Pedro can win one...but, otherwise...MEH.

Sorry, but I believe a WS champ will be from that side of MLB again this year.

Are you forgetting something, Beltran is a hitting robot, your futile AL teams are useless against his powers...

Seriously, I think people underestimate the Mets because of their league. Beltran aside, Wright is a stud, Delgado is Delgado, Reyes is such an explosive player. Don't forget the playoff pitching experiance of Glavine and El Duque. Wagner closing it all out. I know they shit the bed against the Redsox, but the mets were struggling then.

However I agree with you that the AL>NL, I just like messing with the powerhouses, even though we have the 3rd best record in baseball and only 1 game behind the Yankees for second best record.

Hey, I'll give you how the Mets are one of the top teams from the NL...but, for every player example you gave, I can name one from the Yankees, BoSox, White Sox, and even Tigers that are equally scary if not even better.

And at the end of the day, no matter how well, the Mets can bash and hit, it all comes down to starting pitching and IMO, they don't match up to what the AL teams roll out.

Not hating on your team...but, just don't see them getting past the AL's elite...

To be honest, I agree. The AL will most likely win it all.

If I recall the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox & White Sox all have similar records. I agree the Mets are good but really none of their pitching is really that scary. I hope they make it though I'm a huge Willie Randolph fan

Glavine and Pedro have been really solid, more solid than any Yankee or white Sox starter, excluding Mussina. And the White Sox may not have won without El Duque last year...now a met. The Mets also have a more potent offense then Minn and Detroit. The Redsox are scary with Schilling pitching well and Ortiz in a clutch situation. I think the Mets can take down Minn and the Yankees. Det, and both Sox are tough teams to beat though.

Glavine is struggling
El Duque is so predictable
Pedro you just have to get to him early
Wagner is a choke artist

Schilling another you have to get to early
Wells not a threat
Beckett can be tough

White Sox staff has struggled all year

Minnesota just lost their 2nd Starter for the season

Yankees lineup top to bottom is tough, better than Boston, Detroit & Chicago.

Slow down Mr. Steinbrenner! Liriano will probably go on the 15-day DL. We just called up Matt Garza, another stud. The Twins will be just fine.

I don't know if you guys remembered the kid that launched himself into the netting at Yankess Stadium last year.

Yankee Stadium jumper banned for life

NEW YORK (AP) - A baseball fan who jumped from the upper deck at Yankee Stadium onto the netting behind home plate has been banned for life from the ballpark and could be sent to jail, a judge said Wednesday.

Scott Harper, 19, of Armonk, N.Y., pleaded guilty Wednesday to reckless endangerment following last season's plunge at the New York Yankees' Bronx stadium. District Attorney Robert Johnson recommended probation and restitution to the Yankees, but Harper rejected the deal.
Harper's criminal sentence, to be handed down Sept. 19, will depend on the outcome of another case in Westchester County for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, state Supreme Court Judge Troy Webber said.

The district attorney's office recommended 30 days in jail; Harper had faced up to a year.

A telephone message left at Harper's home was not immediately returned Wednesday.

Harper dropped about 40 feet onto the large net, which stops foul balls from flying back into the stands, during the eighth inning of an Aug. 10, 2005, game against the Chicago White Sox. The game was delayed for four minutes while he was removed.

After the final out, Harper was carried from the ballpark on a stretcher, his head immobilized in a neck brace, and taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Harper told three friends with whom he was sitting that he was going to test whether the net would hold his weight and then jumped, police said.

After landing, he sat with his head in his hands for a few moments before climbing on the net back up to the middle level of seats while players watched and the crowd roared. He then was hoisted over the railing and led away by

the yankees had an all around bad inning, Arod throwing error, Cabrera misplayed a ball in the outfield, Cano couldnt turn a double play, then pasada had a passed ball and almost threw it away at second. it was an ugly inning.

I think the gas price went up because of ARod.

What's up with the BloSox?? Gotta get out of the funk. Luckily it's only August. I know Dirty is laying back on his chair laughing an evil laugh because everything is going according to plan.
