Thanks for the update Nunchaku...

I'm glad Lee is off the market... there were rumors flying around about the Red Sox being interested in him...

I hate the last days of trading season... Some of the stupid shit I have to listen to...

I'm sure the sox will make some kinda small move, but I just hope they don't do anything stupid

You can't be for TWO teams can you?

I'm not too familiar with Lidle but he can't be worse than Ponson & Chacon.

Sheff can DH. Plus, Sheff is getting old; he'll be 38 this year. Also, there's no guarantee that he or Matsui will play again this year. Even if they do, they are both coming off wrist injuries. Ever see Sheffield in the batter's box? That bat is moving all over the place. Sheff puts a lot of stress on his wrists. And Matsui's wrist break was BAD.

Yeah but Giambi usually is DH since he is not the best fielder, anyways he better step up.

I don't know why, but I'm not really worried about this trade...

With Gambi playing first, that weakens the defense, and any time the yankees trade away more prospects from their already depleted farm system is a good thing for a Sox fan...

Abreu tanked last year when the Phillies were making a push for the playoffs... He's power numbers are falling off (Alex Gonsalves our #9 hitter has as many home runs), but Abreu is a career 300 hitter, leads the league (NL) in walks, and has 56 RBI's. The Yankees were probably on of only a few teams to be able to absorb is big payroll too...

It'll be interesting to see how the transistion to the AL goes for him...

With or without Abreu the Yanks will be passing Boston within the next couple of weeks.

To be honest, Jeter's hitting just as bad in the clutch but no one complains...?

Jeter is hitting .378 with RISP, .425 with RISP and 2 outs, and .500 with the bases loaded.

Not good. Shelton was a bloated flash-in-the-pan. Casey is 100% gamer and will fit well in that clubhouse.

None of this will matter guys, Beltran is going to tear apart anyone that stands in his way of a world series title.

The Mets are NOT going to win the series this year. That team is way too out of order to be a real playoff contender. Their place in the standings doesn't tell everything. The only reason they won it last time was because of a guy named Buckner.

Well, then...I think a bit of normalcy is warranted. They need to revert back to old habits if you ask me. It's affecting the ying-yang of baseball.

Thank you Yankees....This trade does noting for the Phils this year, but gives us the ability to spend during the off season....Yankees fans take note....Abrea never swings at the first pitch...just my little pet peeve with him over the years. He is a good player, but he just doesn't play with heart - or maybe he does and he makes it look easy, in any case - He was a good guy and he will fit in well up in NY.

I never understood why Phils fans hated Abrue so much. i guess thats why. Although Mike Piazza never swings at the first pitch and we all know how Mets fans felt about him. Oh well, guess you gotta be a Phils fan to know.

Reds get pitchers Cormier and Lohse.

Gawd, if there's a name you can use with a Chinese accent, it's Lohse's. LOHHHHH-SEEEEEE!

Good batters generally do not swing at the first pitch......

He did say "generally." I've got to agree. Mauer is a classic example. If you want another, I never swing at the first pitch in my softball league and I'm hitting .600.

One of our country's professional sports needs mandatory drunkenness in its rule book. I'm not saying that sport is baseball, but it wouldn't be a bad idea...
