If thats the case, than AL MVP shouldn't be Jeter.....for the same reasons.

Chicago baseball is starting to look gloomy again, the Cubs have the 2nd worst record in the MLB and the White Sox have been faultering.

Well, the Cubbies are always gloomy.

But, I have faith in the ChiSox. I still believe they are playoff bound. Detroit...I'm not so sure of.

As of right now, I believe the finish will be: NY, Oakland, Minnesota, and ChiSox.

What makes you think Detroit is going to fall out of the playoff race?

Verlander has never pitched more than 150 innings..(I love how he changes speed though)...........and of course don't dispute the Ozzie Guilen effect.Plus detroit might be missing Carlos Guillen for an extended period,he has been by far there more consistent and best hitter.

Just watched Anibal Sanchez toss a no-hitter for the Marlins. It was amazing.

Were you at the game? We're having such an amazing season. We're broken old MLB records and nobody cares.

I'm a Met fan, and I'm afraid we may not win the division next year because of the Fish

Only if we get the stadium that allows us to sign some free agents. They'd get bullpen and probably work on the OF. Hermida needs to get better and Willingham is good. The other OF spot is weak. The infield and starters are set.

I hope Ozzie doesn't put McCarthy back in their to pitch, he's kind of been stinking it up lately. Nice to see Hermanson back, as well as Thome and Dye!!

Dye, Thome, Crede, and Garland have been the MVP's of the White Sox, everyone else has been inconsistent. Where have you been lately Scotty Pods, Iguchi, and AJ? Also, Garcia, Vasquez, and Buehrle for most of the season have been pitching subpar. We should've kept El-Duque and never traded for Vasquez.

I think McCarthy's going to be a good one...sure, he lost 2 games recently but you can attribute that to their inability to score or get people on base. Not hitting into double-plays with runners in scoring position would be kick@$$ too.

I think Iguchi is steady as always...he's batting around .280ish and gives decent defense in the field. His problem is more attributed to Pods' inability to get on base lately. If anything, I hope Williams gets a new leadoff man this winter.

As for Vazquez, he's a head-scratcher for me because he's always been a decent pitcher.

I was hoping Brian Sabean did the deal with Ken Williams to send Jason Schmidt to Chicago for Brian Anderson and McCarthy......Schmidt would have helped Chicago drop Vasquez from the rotation and I think McCarthy still has a big future in the Majors and my Giants could use the defense Anderson brings.Plus Schmidt will be an 34 year old pitcher who should command 10-15 million a yer based on the Oswalt deal. No way the Giants re-sign him.

Well, the release of Young was kinda shocking apparently to the ballclub. Ah well, as long as the boat continues to sink, I'm all good.

And um, here's hoping the Tigers and Twinks kill each other this weekend.

Sure, the Piranhas are 3 games back and still have the WC lead...but, it's only a matter of time when either Chicago or Minnesota get those two playoff spots.

I agree Thome has a better average..but Thomas has 5 homers in 5 staright games this past week.Plus with Chavez stinking up the joint, the A's would be lost without him yet they lead there division by 5 games.........if anything Thomas will get MVP votes.Check the numbers.Thome has superior protection in his lineup, while Jay Payton has been hitting behind Thomas for most of the year.

I'm still undecided on to many awards to post. I like to wait until the last minute and see who carries their team all the way to the end

^^ What's this I hear about Girardi possibly not going back to the Marlins next season?? Something like he doesn't get along with the front office, and Loria doesn't like him and wants him fired, etc. Any truth to this, or ??

Loria actually fired him after the game but was talked into keeping him on as the manager. I guess Loria has been watching Mark Cuban too much in Dallas and figured that he would get into the act too.
