I don't know what is worse. Not getting in the playoffs or getting in and sucking.

We have it easy now but go back before the first Pats Superbowl win in 2001 and it wasn't a pretty sight in Boston. Once Belichick and Brady hooked up the floodgates opened all over town.
Boston was actually laughable for quite some time (no offense). As a diehard Laker fan, it surprised the shit outta me that the Garden was chanting 'MVP' as recently as 2006 for Kobe Bryant, a pretty well-hated Laker of all people and of all teams. Come 2008, they get KG and Allen, and all of sudden, everyone's back filling the stands. So no one is immune to bandwagons.
I understand that those were probably Laker fans doing that, but back in the day and now, Celtics fans wouldn't let that happen.

The sizzle in the Steak
Basically, here's how it works. You've been a member of the forum for 4 years 1 month and a day. The Kings have made it to the finals for the first time in about 20 years.
Here's the kicker.....
https://acurazine.com/forums/misc.ph...osted&t=199461
you have 2 posts in this thread and they both came after the Kings made it to the big show.
If you were a die hard Kings fan or Hockey fan in general, you woulda showed up here to bitch or brag about something that happened in "last nights game" a long time ago.
That's what hockey fans do when they see a hockey thread.
But that's all nothing to worry about because it's OK to get excited when the home team does good. Maybe you'll become a die hard fan because of it.

I guess the NHL is just as bad as the local scrub news networks here in SoCal.

Where's Messier to guarantee a Rangers Game 6 win over the Devils?!?!?!?
Niner Faithful
From the end of the the 1st through most of the 3rd, I have never seen the Rangers play better in this playoffs then during that span - yet they lost.
Now I know how the Devils fans feel when you outplay them all game and still lose......Henrik was not himself in the 1st period.
I at least want to see a Game 7.....but Devils just have all the momentum right now

Dodgers owners' hopes go beyond Fall Classic to Winter Classic
With the Kings' playoff run stirring up hockey fever locally, Stan Kasten says Dodger Stadium could accommodate an NHL Winter Classic game.
PHOENIX — As hockey fever grips Los Angeles, Dodgers President Stan Kasten said he plans to explore whether the Kings could play in an NHL Winter Classic game at Dodger Stadium.
"Facility-wise, we could certainly handle it," Kasten said.
The NHL has yet to award its New Year's Day showcase to a warm-weather city. The Dodgers could offer baseball's largest stadium and the iconic backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Kasten, former president of the NHL Atlanta Thrashers, said technology would allow ice to remain playable for an outdoor hockey game at Dodger Stadium but said he was unsure if the league would be interested.
"They put a man on the moon," Dodgers Chairman Mark Walter said. "They can make it work."
In 1991, Wayne Gretzky and the Kings played an outdoor exhibition game in Las Vegas. The ice held up despite a game-time temperature of 85 degrees.

A) What is he supposed to say? We suck we'll lose?
B) Not outlandish, they have done it 2x THIS SEASON.
C) This seriously has me reconsidering being a fan. I am losing sleep and feel hung over (have not had a drink in 17 days short of 18 years.
D) GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sizzle in the Steak
Gonna be a tough one tonight....do or die.
Niner Faithful
Two positives either way tonight:
If they win: I'll be happy and get drunk and anticipate Game 7
If they lose: It'll be a relief since I won't be stressed on game days like the past month!
Either way - helluva season for the Rangers. Now if they can get some more offense and speed to go with their great defense.

I agree, it has been a great season but this getting down 2-3 in every series has stressed me out totally. I am a wreck waiting to see which team makes an appearance. Great Rangers or suxors Rangers.
I hate this.
I hate this.

I remember that from last year. It's strange how things that have no real bearing whatsoever on your life can cause that much stress and tension. At certain points you almost feel like a drug addict having an epiphany asking, "why am I doing this to myself, I'm an absolute wreck."

^ This has been the only solace that I have taken from the Pens sucking in the post season the last few seasons, at least when it's over I'm not stressed and can move on with the spring/summer
LFG RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup. Between missing the playoffs for 7 freaking years (blessing in disguise)? And fast exits the last few I had forgotten how this feels.
I'll see your addict and raise you loved one in a coma, possibly about to die.
I reiterate, I HATE THIS.

What do you mean? If there are other events they will have to tear it down.
Is it staying like that until Wednesday?
Is it a secret?

Kings versus Devils for the Cup...
Fearless predictions, people?
This looks very much like the year of the Sacramento Kings and Brad Doty!
I'm gonna go with Waldorf's team in 6 close match-ups.

They probably thought the Clippers or Lakers would still be in the playoffs at this point so they didn't schedule any big events like concerts or whatever
