Was very worried the way they played that first period...looked like they couldn't even get around/through some of the flames...

Yep...the Hawks were jittery and the initial forecheck of the Flames made the Hawks throw up bad passes and turnovers...

Heck, that was how the goal by Moss was scored -- when Campbell got clocked in his own zone and coughed up the puck.

I could somewhat agree with that. Just depends how far they get here in the playoffs. But there is no way I can see Luongo going to Toronto anytime soon. Maybe Detroit...

If it's within the rules and a it's clean play I don't have a problem with it at all. So many things have to go right for a team to win in the playoffs and if using physical intimidation can give you even the slightest advantage over your opponent then why wouldn't you use it. At the least, it shows that you're willing to do whatever it takes to win and you won't go down without a fight. I would be more concerned about a team that would just roll over without a fight.

@ Toews...
Dave Bolland has turned out to be a pretty versatile player. He and Havlat have good chemistry.

He played a little more games this year than Giggy. More consistent too.

Ryan Getzlaf is very underrated.

Ya, I was kidding about Toronto, unless they somehow manage to turn things around quickly. East is all I'm saying. Don't count out his home town Habs either.

Also, his goal was good (though was more a case of right place at right time), but no one is talking about how fucking idiotic his elbowing penalty was with 3 minutes left in the 3rd.

Just revers the Jackets/Wings outcome. I'd love to see the "New York Yankees" of hockey lose in the first round to Columbus.

Non-call on the OT goal...? Um, I'd argue that...Ladd was pushed into Kipper.

I'm not saying either way, I just wanted to read about it. I've heard cases for both sides. I need to watch the reply. Was that the game winning goal?

Yep...3rd fastest goal scored in the playoffs.

Bolland intercepted a pass from Leopold and set it up to a trailing Havlat. Ladd went hard to the net but got pushed into the goalie. I'm not saying this because I'm biased...that's how I saw it.

Keenan understandably is doing what he can for his part...and it's his way of implying how the Flames will play Game 2.

Philly played a scrappy game. What foolish penalties at the end. Ugh. I hate both teams, but having the Pens win is like having Hitler win.
