I'll bite my tongue on the politics and the fucking bullshit the Pens went through with the city of Pittsburgh and State of Pennsylvania.

But I will thank Lemieux for everything he's done for the Pens.. He is the reason the Pens are here, have been here and will be here.

And for Domn I'll thank Bettman for Sidney Crosby.

At least from what it looks like from Game 1.
That's been Philly's problem for years. It's too bad too because they have a great group of players there. A great combination of skill, speed, and grit but they're not going to win with that goaltending. Not to take anything away from the Pens.

Theodore is brutal. Always lets in those deflating goals. I'm sure his leash is really short now. Another performance like this and we'll no doubt see Varlamov in game 3.

And don't ask how I know. But, the evening before the game against the Kings (which was the game that eliminated the Oilers from the playoffs when they lost 2-1), Penner had a bunch of the boys over at his place...all night.

By AM, the cars didn't leave.

I dunno...what a person does in his off time is his business, but, if my playoff life counted on the next game, I would not have gone and whooped it up all night drinking.

So fawkin fixed.

Bettman may have a point with the Islanders. That's a once proud franchise that has a great history. But the Phoenix team is done, cut your losses and move on.

I always considered Pittsburgh a good hockey town. Isn't Pitt known as a blue collar town? Perfect fans for the NHL. Of course having Mario and then Sidney can't hurt things.

I picked the Blues to win the series. But I'd like to see the Canucks fail for another reason. I want Luongo to get fed up, prefer to move back East and sign with Toronto.

Cheap shots aplenty, and it was only game 1, hope we blow them out quickly. 1-0 pens

So that's what the squirrel was talking about last night

It is great having Mario and Sid in this town, both are class acts

Pitt is a great football town. It's a mediocre hockey town at best. The hockey "fans" are mostly bandwagon jumpers who are bored during the NFL offseason because the baseball team is pathetic (and should fold).

The best hockey town on the east coast is Philly. Those are dedicated fans. Big time.

Thinking about it though, one thing that Pittsburgh has going for it is that most of the people who live there have lived there all their lives. This makes for a good sports town. Pittsburgh is someplace that people strive to leave, not move to. Unfortunately, most people in Pittsburgh are poorly educated and can't get out. In that way, it's very similar to some of those backwards, inbred little towns in Georgia, Alabama, etc. You walk through Pittsburgh and you see mostly depressed, uneducated mongoloids. However, since they've been there their whole life and can't get out, they tend to be good sports fans. This extends to hockey as well, I suppose. So I guess you can say something complimentary about Pittsburgh hockey fans after all.

Guys, it's interesting to read these conversations about cities and teams. Here in Kansas City, we have a brand spankin' new arena (Sprint Center) that is dying for a NHL team. I very closely watched the developments with the Penguins. I never thought we would actually get them to move to Kansas City, but at one point, I was REALLY surprised how close it seemed to get. But hey, if it's the Islanders or even the Coyotes, I'd take them!!

I have a vested interest in a team coming to KC. I've been a disc jockey here in Kansas City for almost 32 years now. I am currently on the Classic Rock station in KC, which is also the home station for the Kansas City Chiefs. Obviously I also play myself, but we used to have an AHL/IHL team here in Kansas City that was the primary affiliate for the Sharks and then the Canucks. The Kansas City Blades were here from 1990-2001. I was the Stadium Announcer/PA Announcer for the team during its tenure here in town. Then we also had a AA team here for one year after that, which was short lived.

So I'm really hoping we get a team here in town ASAP. Hopefully, I'd also be able to work for them doing the Stadium Announcer job once again-this time in the NHL !!!!

Interesting games last night. I was surprised the Capitals did so bad, glad to see Broduer do well, shocked at the Rangers and disappointed the Blues didn't win. I was glad to see the Pens dispose of the Flyers too.

Yo pens fans, I *MAY* have ONE ticket available for game 2, on friday. Seat is in E29, row M. $75 face. You can't see the jumbotron... If my friend can't unload it by like 5pm today, would any of you want to go? Sorry it's such short notice, and also they don't have the ticket in hand yet. For game 1 they picked it up at will call...I don't exactly know how it would work, if we could call in and say "give to [name]" or what. They didn't ship the tix out on time...

Philly is the armpit of the east coast.

Pitt is a great football city.

I love people stereotyping pittsburgh especially since they have never visited or lived there. I hear it all the time at NY hockey games.

I think it's funny you go into other towns **coughcoughDCcoughcough** and you ran across 5 or 6 Pittsburgh bars..

if it's at will call you need ID and CC that paid for it in order to claim it. Your friend will have to go and pick it up sometime before the game and then hand it over. Will call is usually open every day for some limited hours.

Like I said, people are desperate to get OUT of Pittsburgh. Even if it's just for a game.

And it's not like I'm dumping on Pittsburgh. Like, I said, it's a great town to take a shit in.

Let's face it most people are jealous that we can invade and take over arenas and stadiums.. Which is half the reason people hate the Steelers and Pens.. You can say they want "out" of Pittsburgh all you want but we all know it's just a weak come back You could atleast say the weather sucks or there's nothing to do in Pittsburgh..

Not just DC you can go to any city and find Pittsburgh bars. And somehow there's still people left in Pittsburgh. Population isn't zero yet..
