Shawn Thornton showing the NHL enforcer code of conduct by calling in the linesman instead of pummeling a guy whith his shirt over his head.

Shawn Thornton exemplifies class. Everybody that he's played with has said nothing but great things about him.

^goalie was in perfect position, I really doubt if he didn't block that shot that they would have scored.

He's a -1...I wouldn't call that a pylon.
Greene's best year so far in his career is this year.
He's got a bright future.

Back in the Oil days he was a -22

it makes one wonder how many illegal sticks are out there and how good the players that use them would be without them.

Apparently it wasn't the curve that they were measuring, but the thickness of the blade.

No comments about the rule changes?

Looks like they'll now start to actually call the instigator.

Has everyone seen this? They showed it on Sportscenter today:

<object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XK1yeT1f2jg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XK1yeT1f2jg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>

For comparison purposes, this is how it's supposed to sound:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/g6CslpftOe4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/g6CslpftOe4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I heard this on the radio the other day, you're comparing a finished product to outakes. And someone who speaks English as a third language.

What about the extra 2 minutes for being an instigator who wears a face shield? It seems like that rule has been completely lost.

In regards to the "staged fight" rule, I think it will just lead to players making a challenge that will be accepted later in the shift. Fighting isn't the way it used to be anyway, the players seem t have more respect for each other now. It certainly isn't like this anymore.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-85qLSvztnQ

Would Wensink have received an extra instigator for challenging the entire Minnesota bench?

If anything the rule may deter people from wearing sheilds....which is NOT a good thing.

Thats was put in to appease the people complaining about fighting. In the end it means nothing. As you said, they'll just wait until later in the shift.

What I do like is calling the instigator on players who start fights because of a clean hit. We discussed this earlier. Players who start something because they aren't man enough to deal with being on the receiving end of a clean hit deserve the extra 2 minutes.

Pffft...you get to sit back and relax while the other 4 teams destroy each other to have the chance to take on either you or Carrot-breath.

I'm the worried...
