Sid put it well in an interview yesterday when he said that Obitchkin plays with no respect for other players, which is evident by his endless attempts to injure other players. To be fair, I have never really seen (but, I'll admit I don't watch THAT many Caps games) Ovechkin take really dirty plays on people...he does like to hit but at least he's not boarding people like the Flyers were (i.e. last year)...

Well he sure knock Gonchar on his ass yesterday, he didn't even move, Gonchar was coming at him and laid his ass out.

And you just proved my point about how much of a bitch Crosby is, he tried to put Ovie over the boards yesterday, then he bitches about someones else play. Give me a fucking break.

I found the "What a GREAT CLASSY PLAYER video" that Crosby is. Pounding on the guy when he's on the ground and throwing punches at the guys nuts. Again a player that was ALREADY on the ground.

Don't forget about the playoffs because that's what hockey is really all about. It's a completely different game. Not only do you need guys who can score goals and hit hard, but you need guys who are good in the corners and battling down low for the puck. In that department, I give the upper hand to Crosby. Combine that with his offensive ability, I think he would be a more effective player in the playoffs.

On the other hand, I don't think there is any arguing that Ovechkin is the best and most exciting player right now. Hockey fans that say they don't like him are lying. He's great for the game.

Haha. OMG. He punched him with his glove on. And Valabik is 6'7". You need two guys for someone that size. He's being a leader and sticking up for his teammates.

I'm not busting balls I'm just saying it was a horrible example, at no point did he back down from Ovy or look for his other teammates.

For him to bitch that Ovie is taking 10 paces and still hitting, is effing whining. (Didn't hear a whistle that it's not Hockey). It's not being a teammate for someone to hit someone whiles he's down in the back of the head or swinging for the family business from behind when the player is already fighting someone.

Reaching. Any player whos' ever laced on skates has done something similar at one point or another. Pay attention and you'll see somethimg similar happen in just about every game.

I don't think there's a opening for the "Hockey Talk" thread moderator. Do you visit outside of Hockey Talk or Fantasy Hockey thread?

You could have fdl's spot.

If you ever ventured out of Hockey Talk and the Pool thread you might have a chance.

Your Gamble thread got bumped last week. Great shit. You need to focus on more like those.

I know it's Hockey, I've watched the game since 1980, I know the great games that the Caps and Gwens have played in the last 29 yrs. They always played hard, it was harder years ago, before some of you were born or even knew what a hockey puck was. The Caps are giving back and the Gwens fans can't take it.

I'm so convinced of it that I tried looking up people with initials fdl in the Toronto newspaper obituaries from last Feb. No luck. He must have been in a car accident or something.

If you do a google search on his private e-mail address you'll see that his posts on other forums (photography, etc.) all ceased around the same time as AZ.

That doesn't bother me. It's the whining that their Golden Boy isn't getting the Golden treatment, and it's OK for the Golden Boy to it back not have it done back to him.

It's not nightmares, I loved those games, of course the Caps weren't on the winning end of most. But Mario wasn't the whiny bitch that Crosby is, he put his game on the ice and let it do his talking.

DC was never a Hockey City, never had an owner that knew how to run a team, he was a basketball guy that was given a team for peanuts. He let some stupid ass woman run the team. Just look at the Bullets.. Wizards whatever, they suck and will always suck. We know have an owner who gives a damn about the team.

You know Crosby lives with Lemiuex? Has since his rookie year.. Is this where all the hatred stems from?

All I'm saying is shut the fuck up and play hockey, if a plenty isn't called then the game clock is still running.

The thought of his death crossed my mind as well. Lets hope not.

But, fdl had nothing to do with his name. That stood for something entirely unrelated. I wish I knew his last name.

Ovechkin is awesome b/c not only can he score, but he's a great hitter. i wish more players could do both.

as for Crosby, he has loads of talent, but i'd like him a lot more if he didn't complain so much
