Nope, just coach. Never a GM in Detroit.

For the 1979–80 season, he moved to the Buffalo Sabres as coach and general manager. He served as the team's general manager until 1987, doubling as coach on three separate occasions. During this time, he missed the playoffs for the only time in his career, in the 1985–86 season.
I guess he wasn't a total disaster as GM but he really has no history of success either. Too old to take over full time GM duties anyway.

So Gary Bettman was on a radio morning show up here yesterday and said something to the effect that the Canadian dollar going back to 85 cents could hurt the NHL. I guess Gary doesn't check the financial's much because the dollar was at 84 cents and closed at 83.x.

Evader... I must know what strategy you're going with.. Playing Two Dmen short on your roster?

Already made 11 moves so far this season..

Although, Yumachachooo comes in at 14 so far barely 2 weeks into the season.. I played in a league here at work last year where they had a max roster moves at 20.. I would never do it as I enjoy the players you drop/give up on.. And it's fun watching you scramble like the Hawks..

As usual...it's quite clear that Bettman is in complete control, knows exactly what is going on, and knows how to handle the league in a very positive way.

Scrambling? Well, a trade does cause...chemistry issues...to my roster.

There's a rhyme and reason to my madness...

Setoguchi, Booth are gambles...but, it doesn't hurt to hear that the former is playing on a line with Marleau and Thornton and latter is on a first line too.

I was always not sure about my pickup of Carter and comparing him to Koivu who gets top-line time in Minny...eh, why not. And same reason as Gagner for Horcoff. Horc has top-line time as compared to Gagner who's on a nifty second line but may experience some growing pains on year 2.

As for goalies. STFU. I'll probably be scrambling at the 3rd spot all year.
