chips and smokes, lets go
Detroit won't repeat as Champions. They may have the best team on paper but its just too hard to do.
I like the Sharks. With the coaching change, look for Marleau and Cheecho to have bounce back years. And as we saw last year in the playoffs, Nabakov is arguably the league's best.
The east is a little harder to call. If Price lives up to expectations, the Habs have a good chance. They're fast, they move the puck well, and they have an incredible power play.
My pick is San Jose vs Montreal

Some questionable trades BstonBruin IMO. But I guess only time will tell how it all works out for you. Either way you're going to lose to me this week.

One thing you'll learn, I will talk massive amounts of trash in fantasy sports pools. Most of the time its because teams are deserving of it but win or lose, it makes it more entertaining.

Nah no hard feelings. I've heard about the Finals hangover. No team has ever made if back to the Finals after being there the year before or something like that..

Okay, I see the trade between Mike and Chris...Um, Chris: I gave you Phaneuf and you STILL need more firepower on D...?

Ex-NHL goalie Malarchuk accidentally shoots himself
Ouch!
From CNNSI...
From CNNSI...
Clint Malarchuk, the former NHL goalie best known for having his jugular vein slashed by a skate in a 1989 game with Buffalo, is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the chin with a rifle.
Wife Christy told sheriff's deputies that the .22-caliber rifle discharged after her husband placed the butt on the ground between his legs. He had been shooting rabbits.
The 47-year-old former player, now a goalie coach with the Columbus Blue Jackets, was flown by helicopter to a Reno hospital for treatment Tuesday.

There is still hope for TO as long as they scout good and draft smart...Mind you, it doesn't hurt to get an Ovechkin, Malkin, Toews, or Crosby as a Top 5 pick either. But, just saying...I think TO doesn't need to focus so much on getting a lottery pick.
Besides, it's a deep draft in 2009.

So great watching that game tonight. So refreshing not seeing the same old retreads year after year. I actually saw effort tonight. The number of turnovers in the Leafs favor was incredible. Gerbovsky and Kluimen are players. But they have to get rid of Blake.

That and I think the Red Wings looked a bit flat...?

Also in the first the Wings couldn't buy a goal, they hit to post so many times it was nuts lol.
As for the leafs they looked surprisngly good, nothing like what I saw when they played Nashville. I think Hagman's going to be pretty important in their line up, he seems to make some good moves, Kluemin looks very promising as well. I don't think it will be long before Coliacovo is out either, he's like a china doll and it's just a matter of time before his knee falls apart.

Is it me or are Holmstrom and Franzen the exact same player? Do you need or can you have 2 muckers that get their goals taking out the trash?
