You know how much I hate the Wings...but, I wouldn't have had this playoffs any other way than to have them stand in the way between Da Hawks and the Finals.

Assuming that the Pens fans here are right and the series vs. the Whalers will be a "cakewalk," what's the better matchup: Pens-Wings or Pens-Hawks?

The Canes have been the hottest team in the league since mid season.... or for some time anyway. This really shouldn't be a surprise.

Yummy's worst nightmare. The Meh Things about to hand the young Hawks a first class beating.

I'd love to see a Hawks vs. Pens tilt...but, at this stage in the playoffs, there is no cakewalk series IMO.

All 4 teams are coming off of exhausting semi-final series...But, if I were to give an edge, I'd have to say Pittsburgh overall talent will overcome the Canes lineup (unless Ward catches lightning).

Pens in 6...who'll then ultimately meet up with my Hawks. Then, it'll be Hawks in 7 over the Pens with Captain Serious outplaying Sid the Kid.

How is it my worst nightmare? I want Chicago to take on the Pink Wings.

I see it win-win regardless. If Chicago beats them...they have indeed arrived. If Chicago does not beat them, the Kids learn what it'll take to take the next step.

Already, this Hawks team has gone farther than even the staunchiest support has imagined. How far did the Sid-Malkin-lead Pens team go when the went into the playoffs their first time round...swept in 4...? But, that's not the point...the year after, they made it to the Cup Finals.

I know I called the Pens going back to the finals but I have no idea if they can beat the Canes.

Wings in 6.

Yes and Yes. This will only make them better. But you know you`ll be pissed and maybe even toss a robot at the wall when the Meh Things eliminate the Hawks.

Hmm I haven't watched the Canes at all except tonight. Why did a couple of the Pens fans here think it would be a "cakewalk"?

Anyways, here are my next round predictions

Wings over Blackhawks in 5 (sorry yum)
Pens over Carolina in 6

ouch.

Honestly, my reaction to the Caps losing had me questioning why I get so involved in these fucking teams. It's not like I have any control over whether they win or lose.

Yeah...you're right about the holes in the walls. But, that's because I hate the Wings more than any franchise in the League (after the Oilers and Blues).

But, we'll see...I honestly didn't think Chicago could take out the Canucks and they passed that round in flying colors. The key is how tired/beat-up the Wings are from the pounding from the Ducks...and second, it comes down to the goalies and Chicago finding a way to stop Franzen and Holmstrom because those two are going to have a perma-home in front of Bulin.

Hey, it was like that for me for 10 years for the Hawks...

Oh totally forgot...I just scored an retro Reebok Toews Hawks jersey last week. It should be here soon...just in time for me to wear it for the next round!

NEVER wear your team's jersey during a series unless you're in the stands. If you do it at home or a friends place or a bar, your team will lose. Mark my words.

Wear it the day before and the day after a game.

Rumor, but I hope not. I`ve had enough of overated Swedes who`ve never seen the 3rd round of the playoffs and wouldn`t know what to do if they got there.

Try it once and see if you get fucked like I used to.

The 93 Pens/Caps series was lost because of my fucking old Rod Langway jersey.

Will be a cool series. Brother vs Brother. And Ron Francis and Tom Barrasso behind the Canes bench. Not to mention Cowher ringing the bell at the Canes arena I hope that focker signs with the Browns..

Two things I'm hoping for... That the Bruins were able to rough up the Canes enough to wear them down and that the Caps put the Pens on their heels enough to make them play at another level..

Definitely will not be a cakewalk. First they said the Canes couldn't handle NJ's neutral zone press... beat them. Then they said they could not keep up with the speed and pressure from Boston... beat them. Now they're saying we can't keep up with the Pens. We'll see.

So far they're 2-0 as the underdogs... and have won 2 consecutive series in Game 7 on the road. I wouldn't count them out yet. May want to wait for the series to start before you write them off...

my gf and I both got the obitchkin = douche shirts and had good luck wearing them

So, it's winter classic rematch, and staal vs staal, going to be 2 very exciting series

True...I also think the Penguins will have better luck against the 'Canes rather than the Bruins.

fyp.

And canes have no scoring. What, eric staal. Congrats. And a hot goaltender. But look what the pens did, they beat a hot goalie in varlamov. Not that I'm comparing a 20 y/o russian rookie to a stanley cup champ and Conn Smythe winner, but you get the idea.

Pens in 5. 6 if Ward steals a game.

Wings in 6, sadly. Would love to see Chicago. If it goes 7 games I think they can get lucky.
