I think both Toews and Kane are the real deal. You can already see both of them playing with so much confidence. They have great chemistry. Kane is more of a disher while Toews has the finish. And lets not forget that Chicago still has Bolland in the farm system who ripped it up with the London Knights. I know he's struggled to get into the line up but he's another player with a great offensive touch. Get a real goalie, or at least a consistent one, and there is definitely something to build around and look forward to for the future.

@ Hawks victory...

Here's hoping Chicago can sustain this and when Havlat comes back and is healthy, again!

[Grabs Chest]It's the big one! I'm coming for you 'Lizabeth!
To that end, we want to let you know that representatives of the Blackhawks met with ComCast SportsNet executives last week to begin discussions about getting some home games back on television this hockey season.

It's important to understand that CSN's schedule was developed over a year ago, so fitting the Hawks into that schedule can't be done overnight. But it can be done, and, while no definitive agreements have been reached, we are convinced that it is the appropriate next step to re-energizing Chicago hockey fans, and creating new fans. We are also working on a long term strategy for televising additional home games in the future.

I agree, Wirtz dying was the best thing that could have happened to the Chicago franchise. The AHL team I follow (Norfolk Admirals) was affilitated with them since 2001 and everytime they had young talent come through the system they were quickly called up to chicago and then later traded or simply allowed to enter free agency. Look at the Ducks, does anyone realize how many of those players from last years stanley cup team came through the Hawks System... It took them to be traded/signed by another club to get to the promise land. Pathetic.

Here is a great site, somewhat dedicated to Wirtz haha

Not cheap but he's also a good goalie and considering his numbers last year in a D that was ruined by injuries and run with some very inexperienced players, I think he's not bad.

You want overpriced, let's talk about that Rangers roster.

I think Havlat should be paid on a per game basis. That would be a $3 million savings according to his $6 million salary.

I don't ever recall Lindros having the amount of injuries that Havlat has incurred during his career. Lindros has a glass brain due to all the concussions he received from handling the puck with his head down.

Good point. Well, I'd just really like to see the darned guy play one full season with Chicago.

i dont know, overall as a goalie i'm not all that impressed, he put up good numbers in the playoffs, but regular season i'd say he is about average.
