Murph was a pretty decent player...could score too and even had a few tilts. Just to see that is nuts. And seeing him speak, you know something is now off. Yikes.
People like Kidd are amazing for what he has done. Still, very very sad to see this. NHLPA should step in.

I actually don't even know who that is. I didn't really start watching hockey until 2005- their playoff cup run year... and no, I didn't just jump on the band wagon. I watched that entire season, when they barely scraped into the playoffs. T'was a good year.
Ah...well, he was a key player for Edmonton's last Cup.
My parents were never into sports, of any kind. So as a kid, I didn't spend any time watching pro sports, or anything like that. I feel like I was deprived of something fundamental in my childhood
Ah. My Dad loved the Bears and Cubs...so, I naturally caught on as a kid growing up. He did not care as much about hockey but I picked that up as I became more aware of what pro sports teams were in Chicago.
What are your thoughts on the suspension?
He said in the article that he only used supplements provided by the team... So why aren't the other 30 guys testing positive?
I feel inclined to believe him, but I dunno... Something seems fishy. Do they test everyone in the NHL or is it just random?
Wondering if it's not his fault, but the team's fault
What is the testing protocol? How often are players checked? Is it in just the off season? At any time through out the course of a year?

From what I read, NHL testing and rules are very lax compared to the other pro sports. I want to be wrong here.
As a professional player paid this much, doing due diligence on what I take is part of my job. Period. While I'm unsure who to blame on this, the Schmidt is accountable. Period. Otherwise, we get the Dennison argument with all his minions being indicted, right? I always roll my eyes about the "oh crap, I didn't know and it was an accident" excuse. Again, cynical guy here. I want to be wrong.

If he’s not on the ice, I really don’t care.
That’s the political side of hockey and it doesn’t overly interest me much.
I just want to see goals, assists, hits and fights. Maybe throw in some killer saves. Everything else is whatever

...of which the oilers will be getting very little of this year, hence why I’m not really interested in watching this season
is it sad I'm already looking forward to the NEXT season, after this one?

Well, next season, your team will still be with the same players and now, with Hello-Nurse not signed, in even deeper doo-doo of cap hell. Not sure what Sharelli can do with that roster. Sekera is toast again and Russell would still have another season after next, right?

I think Yzerman wore out his welcome, the Bolts have been projected for great things for so long I think the expectations are too high and he was asked to step aside, just my take
Or the fact that he traded for a bunch of old washed up former Rangers and overpaid out the ass for them may have been the last straw, who knows?

^ Disagree. While the Bolts have been short of winning, they do have one of the deepest teams right now. And their cap situation isn't in terrible. Stevie Y has looked to be a pretty good franchise builder and is leaving the Bolts in good shape.
His kids are going to college and with his family still planted in Michigan, he did this also for family. And again, I think if there is an open invitation to join the management team in Detroit, he'll take it. He has 1 year left with Tampa.

Dunno, McD as a featured 2nd pairing behind Hedcheese, Strawberry, and Sergachev is IMO, pretty good. It's all about where they slot. If Sharelli signed McD and had that guy as a top minute-munching guy, then yeah, failboat.
Don't forget, Stevie did fleece the Habs for Sergachev too with Droowin going the other direction to Separatist-land.
Anyways, I think he's a good GM. One of the better ones.

Speaking of moves, Taco...what's Sharelli's stupid about not re-signing Hello Nurse?
It's not like your squad has actual any bargaining power given how putrid that blueline is. THEY NEED the kid. Like bad.
Lemme guess, Edmonton wants the #1 overall pick again. They want Hughes.
