End of the game, with the goalie pulled, Fleury gets his best straightest shot up ice for the empty net, gets it all the way past center ice, and the Devils D-man catches it out of midair
That shit definitely was going in... poor kid
Rule 40 – Physical Abuse of Officials
Here’s an excerpt from the NHL rulebook:
40.1 Game Misconduct – Any player who deliberately applies physical force in any manner against an official, in any manner attempts to injure an official, physically demeans, or deliberately applies physical force to an official solely for the purpose of getting free of such an official during or immediately following an altercation shall receive a game misconduct penalty. In addition, the following (40.2, 40.3, 40.4) disciplinary penalties shall apply.
40.2 Automatic Suspension – Category I – Any player who deliberately strikes an official and causes injury or who deliberately applies physical force in any manner against an official with intent to injure, or who in any manner attempts to injure an official shall be automatically suspended for not less than twenty (20) games. (For the purpose of the rule, “intent to injure” shall mean any physical force which a player knew or should have known could reasonably be expected to cause injury.)
40.3 Automatic Suspension – Category II – Any player who deliberately applies physical force to an official in any manner (excluding actions as set out in Category I), which physical force is applied without intent to injure, or who spits on an official, shall be automatically suspended for not less than ten (10) games.
The final decision is up to Hockey Operations — not the Department of Player Safety headed by Stephane Quintal. That means the decision falls to Colin Campbell, the league’s Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations.
That decision could leave Wideman on the sidelines for a significant amount of time. It should cost him the rest of the season.

And you'll be happy to know the kid from Ontario grew up a B's fan.

I'm praying for 5 goals and 5 John Wensink skates to the opposing bench.
If the players wouldn't be so pass happy and play like they would a regular 3v3 I'm sure we'd see 3x more goals.
Good for Scott. And for Jagr. I'm taking a shot if either of them gets to a hat trick.
everyone booing Kane.
Perry still sucks.
That was the first time I've ever tuned into an NHL all-star game and watched from start to finish. And the finish actually had some tension to it. A joke that turned into the feel good sports story of the year so far despite the count's best effort to pour cold water on it.

So the internet, wise and crafty as it is, has found a way to make the All Star game interesting. Please join in the campaign of Bettman trollers and vote Scott for 2016. As it currently stands, Big John Scott is 2nd in voting for the Captain of the Pacific division. Think about that for a second, John Scott All Star Captain playing in a 3 on 3 tournament.
This is a thing that needs to happen.
To round out my 10 ballots for today I voted for Crosby once (I just want to hear his excuse for blowing it off, again) my other 9 metro votes went to BlackAcks boy Bobby Farnham.
Atlantic division, all 10 votes went to perennial Lady Byng candidate, Zac Remaldo (Sweeney knew he's be an all star).
Central Division, all 10 went to Tyler Seguin in an attempt to keep a rapist from receiving the most votes.
But seriously, who doesn't want to see a joke of a game made even more of a joke by putting Rinaldo, Farnham, and Big John Scott out there.

If I told you 3 years ago that by the end of January 2016, John Scott would have more goals in all star games than Sidney Crosby, y'all would have pissed your pants from laughing too hard.
Yet here we are, BJS- 2 ASG goals, SC- 0 ASG goals.

End of the day, if it were not for, IMO, a sadly pathetic cruel joke people were playing to vote him in (not for beneficial reasons or the fact people actually liked him, let's be honest), this "feel-good" story would never have happened. Sadly, it backfired on those cheeky morons who voted him in, didn't it...?
And frankly, while I thought the entire exercise of voting him in was a mean joke, you have to credit Scott for keeping his head high and playing this with class. What people out there were expecting to be a trainwreck became a nice story. And good for him.

And no, I did not vote for Scott to be in the ASG...but, once he was voted in, I DID believe he had the right to play because he got in fairly and via the system. Not his fault people were ATTEMPTING to make a mockery of it.
Again, I find it funny it blew up in their faces.

How many ASG's did Crosby miss due to injury the last 3 years?

3 years ago...or heck, even last year, no one gave a flying fark who Scott was except a "goon" and that the League had no place for players like him.

Be honest yummy, I've been a hockey talk regular for a few years now. When have I not had great respect for the pugilists? I'm in moogs camp, when player police themselves the game is safer.
My only problem with Scott was his high hit on eriksson and if you want to go back and find my post, I gave him a pass on it after hearing his side, remorse, and the concious thought that, "I'm bigger than everybody, sometimes I have to hold back because they are all so little."
I'll admit I didn't think he could skate as well as he did but he proved he could hang with the stars. John Scott aint't , John Scott succeeded at pro hockey.

I read he's played in 5, he hasn't scored a goal, and thise were the games where 40-60 goals got scored.
Either way, I didn't know before I read it last night. I was surprised Crosby went to 5, he always claims injury (except when he was concussed and not playing, that was real).

I honestly don't remember him going to very many, either way, I think his olympic medal goals are a lot more impressive than a stupid ASG. Sid has definitely sat out a number of ASG's due to injury
