Pens making moves...
Sign Eric Fehr to a 3 year deal, then trade Sutter...
Fehr should be a good third line center for them.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Nick Bonino, defenseman Adam Clendening and a 2016 second-round pick from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Brandon Sutter and a 2016 third-round pick, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
The second-round draft pick acquired by Pittsburgh is Anaheim’s 2016 second-round selection.
The third-round choice that Pittsburgh is sending to Vancouver is the compensatory pick awarded from Buffalo for hiring Dan Bylsma as head coach earlier this summer.
Bonino is signed through the 2016-17 season and carries an average annual value of $1.9 million. Clendening is signed through the ’15-16 campaign.

I think you will like Clendening, Ack.
I really liked what I saw in him developing in the Hawks system before Chicago sent him to Vancity...the guy can move the puck and has some good offensive instincts. Also not afraid of the rough and tumble stuff.
Good pick up.

Wow, looking at the Pens' line-up of forwards...it's impressive.
I'll admit that the blueline has some question marks regarding Letang and Maata and their health...but, otherwise, Pittsburgh looks darn deep up front.

Yeah, for a change, our 3rd and 4th line might actually have some quality depth for a change.
Yeah, those guys are question marks, but they take a lot of abuse on the boards. They're still 2 of the most talented D-men I've ever seen when they're healthy

Assuming the NHL and Kings don't keep him suspended I bet he gets deported.

The kings won't jettison his contract because its a good one for the team and as a player, he's well worth the money they pay him. They only use the moral high ground to end a players contract when he isn't worth the money they pay him.

So the NHL just announced the Alumni game for the Avalanche vs Red Winds stadium series game along with Colorado announcing ticket sales information. There is no guarantee of a public ticket sale and they said it might even be unlikely. That means tickets will probably be extremely marked up on the secondary market. I had really hoped to make a week long trip to Denver for this and see my first game at Pepsi Center as well as take in the Stadium Series weekend of events. Then throw in a little skiing on top of everything in between. Well if tickets are crazy I can scrap that plan.

Not gonna happen. The kings have said his punishment is fair and just. The NHL will let him serve his time and reinstate him.

Double jeopardy is regarding being tried after being acquitted. He is not a citizen. Aliens that are convicted are deported after serving their sentence.
Sounds like fun.

Double jeopardy means you can't be tried 2x for the same offense (regardless of acquittal or guilty verdict). It also means you can't be punished 2x for the same offense. His punishment was 90 days in the slammer. Despite being Russian, he's still being tried in the American court system which are bound by the constitution. Deportation was only on the table because he is a Russian, that was not the punishment handed down by the American legal system ("the government") any further punishment for his crime would fall under double jeopardy which you are protected against by the 5th amendment of the US constitution.

Deportation is not automatic but it is on the table.

Grounds Of Deportation For Criminal Convictions - MassLegalHelp
Crime of Domestic Violence. You can be deported for conviction of domestic violence, stalking, child abuse, child neglect or abandonment, or for violation of a protection order. 8 U.S.C. §1227(a)(2)(E). You may have a defense.

As a non citizen he has no constitutional rights. (outside due process & rights all "persons" are entitled to)

Either that or your saying we could tie his nut sack to a crane and hoist him up and hang him by it until ten days have gone by. If his nut sack happens to rip off before the ten days have past, we start over and hang him by his dick for ten days, if his dick rips off before his 10 days are up we put a large hook up his ass and start over. We keep hanging him by various parts of his body until he survives the full ten days or we run out of parts to hang him by or he is dead.
But that would be "cruel and unusual punishment" which is another thing the US legal system can't do either. He may not have constitutional rights but that doesn't mean the constitution no longer exists or the courts aren't bound by it.
That is, unless we send him to gitmo, aka the land the constitution forgot.

Also, he's not immigrating here as far as I know, he's here on a work visa.
I'm fairly confident that any punishment, deportation, revocation of his work visa or otherwise would have to have been handed down at sentencing during his initial trial or it would fall under double jeopardy.
They handed down a sentence and he's currently serving it

He may not have constitutional rights yet the courts still have to follow the rules laid out in the constitution.

That judgement was regarding the abuse. After he is done serving it the INS will look at him & determine what they deem necessary. That process has not the slightest thing to do with the court that he was adjudicated by.

I think rape is worse than deflated footballs, yummy's probably going to be calling for a 6 season ban. 8 seasons if there's any actual evidence.

Brady's crime is worse.
And Kane did not destroy any evidence.

I'll say this: If Kane is indeed guilty, he can be kicked out of the NHL for life.
Don't care how good he is. No place for it on the Blackhawks or any team...except maybe the Kings.
