Not sure what's going on but from what I'm reading, the UFAs that are snubbing LA is interesting. Some peeps are speculating that the locker-room actually has a real drug problem.
Williams taking what is apparently less money and term to go to Washington instead of staying with the Kings who wanted him back is telling. Same goes for Sekera who would rather go to a void in Edmonton (again, EDMONTON) instead of living in California.
Um...something does not add up. We'll see what happens if Loocheechandcong and Kopidoor refuse to re-sign.

He’s of course most famous for scoring in four of six shootout attempts in Team USA’s preliminary round win over Russia in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, which turned him into an overnight household name and remains the only thing worth a damn that Olympic team accomplished before sulking out of Russian sans medals.

This is more of Deano's brilliant and brutal management. He obviously paid off Slappy's fiance to start the fight and call the cops. Slappy gets jail time, Deano voids his deal for a contract breach. Slappy get's out of jail, Deano resigns him to a cap friendly deal of 7 years at 950,000 a year.

Rumor has it that this will be the last season for the Arizona Coyotes. There is speculation that Bettman is currently arranging the sale of the team to William Foley.
Okay...so, I'm just a fair-weathered Hawks fan and don't know hockey except for the field-goal thing after the coach's challenge rule...but, explain this to me like I'm a 2-year-old:
Mike Richards gets stopped at the border for something...but, is NOT arrested or charged. Contract voided. Jarret Stoll IS arrested and caught with something worse, cocaine...no comment from Kings. Slapya Faceoff pleads no contest and is basically very guilty, now is going to jail for 3 months...faces deportation, and the Kings do not void his contract.
We have 3 very legal problems involving 3 Kings players and all are done differently. What's with the lack of consistency or is Deano, the greatest GM in the Universe and Marvel Comics, just that much smarter than all of us and we're too stupid to understand?

Stoll is slightly different because his contract was essentially up. There is no sense in suspending him or voiding his contract since he wasn't actually owed any more money. His handling of Slapya is going to either justify his decision to cut Williams or contradict it.

The answer is simply that the LA Kings/Deano have no morals or class.
But I hardly think they're the only ones guilty of that in the NHL or pro sports.
Like BL said, Stolls deal is up so its a non issue. The other 2 are cut and dry as well. Richards makes waaaaayyyy more than he's worth, Slapa doesn't.

This is the most mind-blowing revelation I've had since I found out what was behind a woman's bra.
So, just when I was thinking there was more restraint this year, I see stupid is back: the Sabres signed O RLY to a contract averaging $7.5M a year.
If he's this much, Stamkos is probably giggling.

I said we couldn't take the 8M cap hit, and I was right, I said that if the Pens have to pay that in full that they can't afford him and we don't want him. I like the deal better with Toronto picking up part of his ginormous contract, because it was too much for too long for the Pens to pay in full. I also said that I didn't want to see us give up one of our top 2 D prospects to get Kessel as was rumored, and they didn't. I also never said Hornqvist was the end all be all answer, just that he's the type of winger that I liked see play with Sid because he goes to the net. Horny will be fine playing with Malkin assuming Kessel plays with Sid.

That was the only part of the deal that hurt, however the Pens don't have time to see how he develops
