In fact, why don't you add yourself to Fibs and mine bet? Whichever of the 3 teams wins the cup first in the next 7 or 8 years gets $100 from the other two?
Knowing my luck with you it should be an easy $200 for you. what do you say Fibs?
The only person I wouldn't make this bet with in this thread is Yumchah. That guy knows which bandwagon to hitch a ride on.

I'd never bet on the home team, too superstitious.
I think juliens still in charge at the beginning of the season but he's on a short leash to crank up the offense and stop trying to win every game 1:0.
See the way I think it should happen is when neither the leafs nor the wings win the cup in the next 8 years, you and fibby both pay me $100 for upkeep of the hockey talk data base

Going into last years final I think we all sort of accepted that the Kings were going to beat the Rags. There was a sense that it was a done deal. Not so sure I get that sense this year. I expect this to go 7 and while I think the Hawks will prevail, I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

Honestly, I don't see Tampa getting more than a win here, I wouldn't be surprised by a sweep. I see Tampa doing too many of the things the bruins did that make me scream at the TV. Things like waiting for puck to come to you instead of skating to the puck and constantly passing up good shots trying to make the perfect pass for a pretty goal.
You can't stand still waiting for pucks to get to you because defenders are coming too and a half second can make all the difference. You can't be afraid to put the puck on net. You certainly can't spend 60+ seconds in the offensive zone with possession and fail to get a shot on net. I see a lot of that type of play from Tampa.

Certainly, Tampa can keep up with Chicago's firepower...Only advantage Hawks may have is in coaching experience (Q versus Cooper) and playoff experience...

The bolts played 13 regular season games against NY, Montreal, and Detroit, they were 12 and 1 with the lone loss coming in a shootout. They finished 3rd in the eastern conference behind, wait for it, NY and Montreal.
The stars aligned for Tampa to provide them the easiest route possible to the final.

I think you're giving them too much credit. For the bolts, the road to the ecf was a dream come true. Tampa lost once to the redwings and won every game against habs once during the regular season. I don't think that they are fundamentally that much better than Detroit and montreal, it's just a case of stylistically having their number.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Tampa melt the ice and wipe the ring clean with the broken tattered spirits of the blacks. It's just that short of some sort of Ebola like epidemic rolling through the Chicago locker room, I can't envision any other scenario where that happens.

Although, the real reason that Tampa and Chicago are both going to the finals really can be seen in the advanced metrics. Forget corsi and fenwick, dump your zone time, plus/minus and pp percentage, look at the piece that both these teams excelled at and it's so easy to see what lead them here.
That's right, Finland! Fuck Yeah!!!
