We're just saying that there's an awful lot of smoke around for something that was supposedly cleared up months ago.
And it's getting harder and harder to trust Cam and Cecil. I for one don't think Auburn paid Cam. However, that doesn't mean someone didn't, and Auburn still won't feel the repercussions.
Chizik is a bit over the top, though. Of course he's going to play this weekend. We're not stupid.

The fact is there is going to be a group of people that look like complete assholes when the truth comes out..
Group A = Chizik, Cam, Cecil, Auburn AD, Auburn compliance, Auburn coaches
Group B = NYT, ESPN (Joe Schad, Forde, Schlabach, Chris Low), and any other reporter who participated in publishing stories based on allegations with absolutely ZERO proof of what went on.
We are hearing ONLY good things from everyone in Group A and the few insiders that have never been wrong in the past and only speak the truth. We have no reason to believe he is innocent because Auburn has known about all the allegations since January. We reviewed the facts and still decided to play Cam well before all this stuff went public.

We're hearing from someone in our AD that Cecil &/or Cam met with the NCAA yesterday with Chizik present and that Chizik left the room smiling. Possible press release today from Auburn.

Like I said, if it doesn't say, 'Newton cleared by NCAA,' 'investigation canceled,' etc, it's not going to stop the rumors.
Even then, Bond was going to meet with the FBI last Tuesday or this Tuesday. Might be a bit early to raise the 'Mission Accomplished' banner.

In light of Reggie Bush, how much do you guys think this negative press affect's Cam's Heisman candidacy? Assuming Auburn goes undefeated, I assumed the award was Cam's to lose. Now I wonder if Moore can leapfrog Newton?

LaMichael James would win it before Kellen Moore did IMO.

I don't think it'll affect Cam as long nothing concrete comes out.. right now it's all allegations from a person being investigated by the NFLPA. If you look at what has been released so far MSU is incriminated more than Auburn.

Although even if Auburn was the lily white pope through all of this, they are the one who will pay the ultimate price if something does come forth with Cecil Newton.
It'll be interesting to see the full breadth of what MSU did. Did they say aww hell no when they figured out what was going on and went straight to the SEC? Did they play along to help out the SEC? Or did they do something wrong and have been trying to make amends for it/get someone else in trouble?
I still don't like having to report something to the SEC and not directly to the NCAA. We don't exactly have the best record when being aboveboard as a conference, and it leaves way too much opportunity for things to not see the light they need to.
