Anyone here rooting for Korea? Their first goal was sweet off of the free kick, I wish the US could score like that Anyways, I think it's realistic they can get into the 2nd round now. I'll have to dig out the Korea jersey

Crotia has held off Brazil for 42 minutes. Not bad.

What's wrong with them? I hate that I'm at work today missing this match. I want to see just how strong they are.

I knew that would happen.

Apparently Ronaldhino is the next coming of Pele, Maradonna and Rossi put together. Just hand them the trophy now.

They have to get through England first. Not that I'm saying England is strong enough to beat them yet. I just think that England is probably going to meet Brazil late in the tournament.

Me too. It is so far from the same. Then again, I won't be missing another match over the next week or so.

England and Brazil are in different brackets. The only way they'll meet is at the final.

England was knocked out by Brazil 4 years ago at the semi final (?). Looking forward for a rematch (revenge? )

GO ENGLAND!

How does Brazil look? The stats don't show them as being too dominant

Every time I see Brazil they always seem so laid back, like they're just playing in their backyard. Then they come around, like "Oh, we need to score now, ok"

I got the sense that the announcers were a little pro Brazil and were giving them the benefit of the doubt on questionable plays. I didnt get a chance to see the entire game but I found them quite annoying.

Exactly. And they have just a first name, like your backyard friends. How can you root against a team with a guy named Fred?

Oh, pil-seng Corea! First place in their group after a France/Swiss tie, very nice.

I was surprised that Croatia looked scrappy and hung with the Brazilians for a close one.

Croatias D held up pretty strong. Ronaldhino tried splitting them many times but was unable. One word: Kaka.

Well it doesnt have to be blue, it can be any other color thats easily distinguishable from the jersey. Its just a traditional thing, helps the ref identify who the captain is. Because the only player thats supposed to discuss things with a ref is the captain.

ok, so brasil didnt completely dominate, but they got it done...

but did you guys see their counter attacks?!? good lord, guys all of a sudden would make runs out of nowhere and would come onto the screen and a perfect ball would be played to him or space.... it was INSANE how precise they are at times.

but yea i agree with whoever said that at times theyre laid back and then they all of a sudden realize oh hey we need to score, its kinda funny.

deutschland poland tomorrow with ballack back, lets see if he turns up the offense even more

I have a few Brazilian's on my college team, and they always ask why we run so much etc. they say "let the ball do the work for you" which is very true.

Laid back is an under statement when talking about Brasil.

Watched the brazil game and I'll repeat what I said earlier. This is anyones tournament. I'll even go as far as to say brazil is lucky to have won that game. Even the US has a chance

Anyones tournament ? I doubt it . So far I dont think there is a single team that could play at the same level of Brazil . Everyone can play defense and play a good game but It doenst really matter if you cant score . As long as you win it doesnt matter if you score only one or ten goals .

I'm just getting in to the world cup and have a question.

What happens if 3 or more teams are tied after the group play. Suppose all of the games in a particular group were either scoreless ties; meaning after the group play all teams in that group would have 3 points. Then how would they determine who moves on?

It will be determined by goal difference
greater number of goals scored in all group matches
and if everything is the same, I guess FIFA draws the team.

You sound like a fan boy. Have you actually been watching all the games? I doubt it, because Brazil doesnt look any better than any of the other teams that have won their games. I mean come on, they barely beat croatia! I'm not saying brazil isnt good, but they are not head and shoulders above everyone else. I really dont understand how you can say that there isnt a single team that can play at the same level as them (at least right now). Thats just horseshit.

Cup win shows Brazil's weakness
Croats trample on talented side and show its weakness

BERLIN—Underdog Croatia didn't beat the world champions yesterday, but they finished off the myth of Brazilian invulnerability.

What you dont understand is that Brazil , plays better with worthy opponents , Las world cup with England they started loosing and end up winning 3-1 . Any team can score on Brazil but can you stop them from scoring on you after that ??
Just wait until the end of the world cup and you ll understand .

The Polish joke was the first game they played against Ecuador. I didn't see the game against Germany but I followed it on the FIFA website. I thought it was going to end in a tie.
