Dear Ray Allen,

Please stop touching the basketball. Please. Thank-you.

...Lakers need to send a bouquet of flowers to Ray Allen. He single-handedly gave the Lakers the 3rd Quarter today just on his idiot shot-taking.

yea, he was at mercy on the defensive end with his foul troubles. not much he could have really done against gasol.

but he still had a piss poor on the offensive end. he choked again with the game on the line by going 1 for 4 on the line and looked clueless on the ball in the 4th quarter.

I felt so bad for PP once again doing all the work.

I was so disappointed with K. Garrent and R. Allen's performance. They really need to step up their game and make some freaking FT!!!! God, KG!!

Another entertaining game.

Celtics have noone to blame but themselves though - I think they lost it more than LA won it. 2 critical points in the game was KG missing the 2 free throws (he's no fiinisher - gettin butterflies), and Kobe stripping Pierce. I had to watch that steal in slow mo 6-7 times becasue it looked like Kobe hit Pierce on the hip/chest, but missed the ball entirely. Finally though I have to say it was a steal because of the way the ball moved out of PP's hands. Real close though to a foul.

LA needs to play a lot better than tonight and hope the celtics tank it to win the next 2. I doubt that's going to happen

KG also played scared down the stretch. I know he was in foul trouble but no point in saving them with 2-3 minutes left.

Rivers also should have put PP back on Kobe inn the final minutes - no point in saving those fouls.

Speaking of which, while I think Kobe is a better player, PP>Kobe so far this series whenever they are isolated.

Garnett got into Foul trouble early but one of the calls was bad - he stripped Gasol clean as a whistle on his 3rd.

I give Gasol credit for playing more aggressive tonight.

Sasha's still a little girl though. He tried to step up to Cassell on a play where he fell down on his own momentum trying to turn away from Cassell. Casell swung his arms away but more as a reaction to Sasha twisting away. What a bitch. He looks like he should have some someone's balls in his mouth. And he probably should have stopped shooting 3-4 shots earlier.

Posey's no where close to being as dirty as the way ball used to be played. I don't mind him.

Rondo sucked it up tonight - ankle njury or not injury he's being lft wide open for shots and he needs to knock them down.

I would still play Powe more.

Boston will win the next game. Paul Pierce owns the Lakers. They practically rolled out a red carpet for him almost every time right down the lane.

Yeah, PP definitely got fouled there.

KG got to step up and stop being a little pussy. Man, he needs to stop settling for jump shot.

I just can't sasha. He is a little emotional cry baby. What the hell was that with Cassell? Was he expecting foul or something?

L. Odom? I think you left out L. Odom there. They both definitely stepped up their game tonight.

The quote:

Kobe made a nice defensive play in the fourth quarter after disappearing for the second and third. But that was the big defensive play of the game, and now the Lakers and Celtics give us another game to underscore how un-Michael Kobe is.

I guess you can call it entertaining...lakers played well first 3 rounds but are sucking it big in the finals...

and PP even said it was a good non call on that steal towards the end of the game...it wasn't too much contact to have it be a foul...in playoffs that's nothing...

I realize the Lakers are a different team now than they were at the beginning of the season, though. All things considered, I wouldn't call either of them an underdog, but I believe the Celts will win every home game they play, plus steal one in LA. Boston in 6.

So, do the Lakers have any chance of taking 2 in Boston?

I think they do. The Celtics have to still feel pretty good about going home to try to close it out. However, the injuries and resulting fatigue must be mounting. And, they may be that little piece of doubt entering the back of their minds saying, "what if this goes to Game 7?". As embarrasing as coughing up a 24-point lead at home to the Celits was to the Lakers, being the first team to cough up a 3-1 series lead (at home) would be even more so for the Celtics. I see the pressure squarely on the Celtics now.

12-1 at home. I doubt that Boston will lose two games in a roll at home.

You have a good point there, but what about the preview games against Atlanta, and Cleveland?

i think hes talking about KG's habit of not letting players practice shooting long after the play is dead.. its part of his defensive mindset and i think its really intimidating to guys like sasha vujacic who practice in the game..

^^ I think its a Boston thing. They also like to give you one more shot (foul) once the whistle is blown. Odom almost got a T responding to it and the announcers finally mentioned it during game 5.

That could be said about every every Finals series, but the team down 3-1 has yet to come back. So that pressure is historically overrated. Never mind that almost everyone had the Lakers winning it in 5-6 games.

Maybe because he's been in Minnesota for most of his career.
