Very cool. I might be able to make a donation but I can definitely lend some help with photography for you for sure. Had to google hero cards but I might be able to give those a shot for you as well.
I could come do some shots in the garage or meet up with you when you have the karts out at the track up in Mooresville sometime as well. Who knows if it is at the track you may entise me to donate for the track time package haha.

Cool about the donation/sponsorship as well. Even if you are not able to contribute it helps if you share the link. The more eyes the better, and you never know who may see it.

Yeah I just bought some stuff from their yesterday and I am hoping it comes this weekend so I can get it all tested out. New mic for gopro, mic adapter, and additional batteries. Need to pick up one more 64gb card still and then I think I will be set for IA.

Awesome deal! I have a race at CMP on 4/27, so likely will start practicing in Mooresville after that. I'll let you know when we're heading up for a practice day to see if you're around.

Do you practice on week nights at all or normally just weekends?

OMG
Time to Climb
my car search has ended:
I finally settled on buying a car in sept/oct 2013 so i could bring some more money to the table and pay down my versa a bit more (I knew I'd be a bit upside down). HOWEVER, the nissan's tires were COMPLETELY bald, it needed an oil change, wipers, a good cleaning, and a fill-up.
So i thought to myself, 'why the helk should i be spending $400-500 on this thing when i want to get rid of it anyways? let me see what the market looks like.'
Here were my car parameters:
- good on gas
- something mature (every now and again i have to entertain my fortune 500 clients for work)
- reliability
- had to be brand new (if not, then i know i'd spend WAY TOO MUCH $ on modifications)
- preferably a japanese import
- enough cabin/trunk space for 4-5 people for a week long road trip
- preferably awd
as many of you know, my choices were all over the place, but i finally settled on something because the price was right.
white 2013 toyota camry se
$21,3xx out the door (sticker was just over $26k)
35 highway mpg, tint, 2 tone interior (black/silver - it REALLY stands out and is a wonderful space to be in), bluetooth, usb, aux input, power everything, sport suspension & steering, etc
also includes 3 years free maintenance ... at any toyota dealership in the country!
i was really pushing for the new legacy, but ultimately toyota was ready to play ball so i went with it. also, i didn't care for the interior or the noise of the cvt in the subie.
i never thought i'd drive a fam car such as this, but i am pretty stoked about the purchase. i don't think i'll mod anytime soon, but when i do here's what i'd prob do:
- 18" or 19" wheels
- h&r springs
- custon sri, hi flow cat, exhaust
- upgraded speakers
as you know, my $ goes to my travels, more ink, and to assist pop with medical payments. all things considered, i don't have to change my lifestyle up a bit and i got out of that awful 2008 nissan versa (really not a bad car ... just not for me).
cheers,
vinny

i've received several compliments on the camry already ... tinted windows and headlights contrast with the white body rather nicely. the 17" alloys are nice too ... but the gap certainly is not.
all my friends laughed at me when they heard i bought this toyota ... until they saw it

Bought some parts for the F tonight. Unfortunately they are just maintenance parts.

Vinny just cause....but I have to say a TSX fit the same requirements other than new and is cheaper so you would have money for mods.

i will say, however, that i'm not in to the 2g tsx
if i bought a 1g then i would've comptech that thing out - complete with supercharger - and i would've spent more coin than i would like to.
i'm willing to bet if i lived in charlotte and was still into the scene with you guys, i would've went for an '08 rl w/ full mugen kit n mods

I usually only practice on weekends, with the exception of race weekends, where I go down Friday afternoon to practice. By the time I get home, get my trailer and equipment, and get to the track, it would be too late. So we usually just go on weekend days. I'll be racing in Mooresville starting in May. I want to see how I stack up to see if I should add the Rotax Nationals this July to my calendar or wait until next year... so I'll be doing some practice there in May.
I'll be at CMP the afternoon of the 26th for practice, then all day the 27th to race.

That cool. I will definitely come out for some of the times when you are up here in Mooresville. I want to check everything out.
It appears Turn 1 has an open track day the 26th. I don't know if I can get my car inspected for that quick enough though or if my rigged up shifter cables would even pass the required track inspection. Also appears I have to tack track drivers ed before I can go solo.

^ Well I'm probably going to get spanked on the 27th. Will be my first race in the new class/kart and I only have about 40 laps at CMP in it... so should be interesting
I will be at MMX for a few hours next weekend (4/20-4/21), but as a spectator since I have a few buddies racing in that series... so I want to check it out before I race there in May. It's a double-header, so there's a race Sat and Sun... but I'll likely just go one day to check it out. My wife will beat me if I'm there both days just watching

I got around to installing my new transmission mount and painting the rusty bracket for it today. I also while I had that all out decided it was the best time to tackle semi tucking my charge harness and amp power wire. Next I want to move the coolant overflow for the aftercooler up next to the fuse box instead of below it.

This pollen is making it impossible to detail a car. I think I am going to need to not open the garage till I leave for IA after I was the TSX.

Looks much better, you should still look into doing a full tuck w/ battery relocation at some point. It would make that engine bay pop.
On another note. My vacation request for Friday before and Monday after IA have been approved. Got a room booked at the hotel you suggested Jason. What time is the caravan departing Charlotte?

That is awesome that you got it approved. I think we are departing between 9 and 10am on Friday because we apparently need to make a LEGO shopping trip stop for Eric on the way there. You are still welcome to come north to go south Thursday night if you wish to roll down with everyone haha.

Hmmmmm. It's not bad but I prefer the other one.
That one makes the front bumper look like it has an underbite

Still my all time favorite bumper. J's has been growing on me but the Spoon is still the best.
