I am curious about the "has come a long way both good and bad..." comment. I always like to hear peoples thoughts on my car in detail including the bad. It fuels me to continue building it for me and not someone else.

I think that guy is referring to the deer incident and how you built it bigger and better than it was before that.

I could be mistaken though

Was going to take the TL out the garage today, but I see rain in the forecast. It hasn't moved out the garage since the pollen came.

So whats everyone doing to prepare for the IA trip?

House and kids sitter is arranged. Car will probably be sprayed down and wiped nothing special. Car door is fixed, just need gas and a good nights sleep and im good to go.

Busy week for me, My uncle is fighting cancer with chemo, so ive been back and fourth from the hospital.

i know how that feel bee, my dad was in the hospital for about 3 months recovering from his 2nd stroke. i went back and forth everyday that i could. i hope your uncle beat the cancer.

on the side note i just got my tein s tech spring in so i can get rid of this 4x4 status. also just got my windows tinted, and hopefully get my 5th wheel mounted and balance. then if i have any money left ill get the clips and locks for my bike rack.

So apparently 3M tape products are not sold much in the south. I can't find 3in 3M painters tape anywhere. I can find another brand that has horrid reviews saying it pulls paint off of walls. Can't imagine using it on a car hood with all that heat.

jason, does it have to be 3m? i know of some place that sell 3" or bigger painter tape, but there usually sold in bulk and there are no brands name for them. have you checked sherlem williams? they should have 3m products.

Yes I did actually check Sherlem Williams and they sold every size under the sun from 2in and under. 3M home painters tape blue and 3M professional auto painters tape green are the only things I have experience with for covering a hood to not leave residue on the car from engine heat. They sell something called Blue Hawk at Lowes now for some reason. They sell smaller sizes of some of the 3M but not the 3in and Home Depot doesn't carry anything in stores according to the internet in 3in for painters tape.

I would need to know the brand to research it and I need to get it by tomorrow night to get the car taped before the trip.

My dad happens to be coming down so I am hoping to get the green stuff from an auto body supply shop by our house before I leave but they don't always stock the 3in though so hoping they have like 4-5 rolls of it or at least 2 cause I found the blue stuff in Atlanta at Lowes right by my hotel so I need at least 2 rolls to get me to IA. I can use some 2in in places but covering the hood needs 3in.

there a place called carolina auto supply house off stateville rd that i know sell 3 inch painter tape, just that it an off brand i think. plus you have to have a dealer liscense type thing, but i can try to swing by since cpcc uses them for there autobody program. they usually stock 3m stuff but there over priced in my book.

Jason that 3M tape is at every Lowes, Home Depot, and hardware store in the Cary area. I'm not sure why stores around you don't carry it

To prepare, i'm going to throw the wash bucket and stuff in the TL, and fill her up with gas...but she may not need any. Hopefully it will start since it hasn't been cranked in over a week haha.

I returned from Oahu yesterday and the trip was amazing. I should be able to have some photos posted up at some point.

Went ahead and recharged the battery last night for the Atlanta trip.

Looking forward to spending quality car time with everyone during the weekend. My new lens did great in Hawaii and I look forward to taking more photos with it of everyone's cars. Except Tyler, because Tyler is not going.

Tape problem solved. I was able to get 4 rolls of the Green 3m premium automotive painters tape that my dad is bringing with him on his way down to see my sister at Auburn. I forgot the premium stuff costs over $20 a roll.

I hate traffic, and there is so much dirt when there is a lot of cars on the roads and shit. And bad drivers !

10am will be great, so I can say bye to my kids without just sneaking out on them cause were going to be gone for a few days. Jason don't you have to drive down south anyways ? Im in the northlake mall area right off the highway.

Yes I have to drive down south regardless. What I meant was I am hoping maybe we meet near Eric who is the furthest south to my knowledge of those of us going tomorrow. Hopefully that time will be like 945am with a 10am departure or something along those lines.

I am dissapointed in the rain cause I had planned on mounting my GoPro on the car to get some driving footage of everyone passing by.

Coupled with the 90% chance of precipitation tomorrow and the mound of orders I need to send out, I have made an executive decision to work tomorrow and travel to Atlanta on saturday.

You shouldn't need to roll your fenders, tein springs don't lower too much. On my accord I had neuspeed race spring which dropped front 2.5 front and 2.0 rear which left about an inch or so of gap. But then again I don't know the exact specs on those springs

So yeah still haven't gone to bed yet. Car is waxed but needs buffed still. Packing now. Hoping to be meeting at about 9:45 at North Lake Bee so we can be on the road by 10 since Eric isn't coming. Probably by the Panera Bread. I figure that gives us about 5 hours to get there and it should only take 4 so it gives us time for stops so maybe I can make a video then from some different angles.

I haven't stopped going all night. Realized I needed an oil change so that delayed my detailing of the car. Also when I went to raise my car in the back I noticed the tires were bald on the inside edge. Went online and set an appointment for 8am at discount tire as I need to get the tires switched sides since I am only using about 1/3 of the tire surface anyways.

Mine are 1.5 in the front and 1.3 in the rear. From my measurement I should be right on top of the tire. Running a 235/40/18 on an 18x9.5 wheel. Hopefully I have some space to allow some bounce don't want my wife to be struggling to drive it around.

Dam Jason, no sleep your going to be like a zombie.

We definitely need to stop every once in awhile, because I smoke cigarettes but not in my car.

Panera Bread it is 9.45- 10.00
