jason what do you have to do on your a/c system?, i can probably be of assistance.

also what are you guys plan the day of IA? im gonna head down there and be in ATL probably around 6-7 so i can rewash the car once down there. trying to roll in with you guys. also i guessing since everybody got different hotels. you want to pick a place where we all can meet?

hopefully i can finish my trunk inclosure so i can fit my full spare tire in. plus lower the car, and get my windows tinted.

anybody know a fair priced place that does window tinting?

 

The A/C just doesn't blow cold air. I don't know if it has a leak or just wasn't recharged after my accident. I don't want to just want to use a bottle from an auto store cause they make things worse from what I have read online.

 

Did you look up videos on youtube 'how to charge your a/c'?

 

Hey I am new to the site but I am in the Charlotte area...I have a 04 tl but it is automatic but just trying to make it look nice and give it a nice grumble...so far I have took out the mid mufflers and replaced with flowmasters...sounds pretty good from the cabin...but couldn't tell you how it sounds riding because I am always driving...but I just wanted to introduce myself and see whats up..

 

Eric yes I have. I have also found out that if the system has no charge at all I can't do anything on my own and if it does have some charge which I doubt since it doesn't blow any cold air I have a 50/50 shot of ruining my system using one of those auto part store cans.

ay. look here. ay... just run your car with the windows down. There isn't a day in april where you will absolutely have to have a/c. Besides, you need to listen to the sounds of the engines and exhausts anyways.

I've been seeing a lot of TLs on the roads lately.

 

My car is clean!!! First time in forever . It's been raining too much, and it's been outside all winter . Got a couple of nasty little touchups I need to hit, too. POS. Two weeks until garaged again, though

 

your right about the auto store refills could mess up the system by containing some kind of sealant in them. does the a/c compressor kick in alot? like on and off every like couple minutes? if so, it might be too low of a refrigerant charge. or might be too charged up once the compressor kick on it see too high of pressure so it kick off. it really hard to judge without reading the pressure of the high side and low side.

if you take it to a shop, they need to ....

1. identify the refrigerant (if pure r134a then move to next step, may have other gases that can be filter out, but not r12)
2. perform a sealant test (if no sealant move to next step)
3. recover frigerant, and oils from system.
4. put the a/c system under a vacuum, if pass then move to next step.
5. charge refrigerant and oil needed for your car.
6. test a/c system with performance chart to make sure your system is operating within range of specs.

hope it help, i understand why u don't trust shops, especially with all the money u put into it i wouldn't either. i just recharged the a/c in my tl and civic and it freaking cold. both were undercharge about 4-5 oz.

I actually had to turn the a/c on today

 

I saw three white, two pearl white, one orange, and one black Lamborghini today. One of the pearl's was an Aventador. Tyler, y u mad?

 

Because Jason won't be posting pictures until the Aventador replacement comes out.

The chrome headlights and trim work well with the color too. It was a definitely a good choice, I think the 03 headlights wouldn't look right with that color. Got any side profile pics?
