glad you read that, Dave!
Are you installing yourself?
Also, all you fellas looking into it...supposedly the robbins black haartz stayfast is the best, most robust...there are others like GAHH which claim to be "the best" but in my internet searches I was able to determine anything else is just rebranded Haartz anyway...
so the $640 shipped for it, is the best you'll fine. Expect $500 in labor for install...or take a weekend and do yourself. It seems daunting...I'm curious to see what you think, Dave.

I checked around at shops. Questionable ones wanted $800. Reputable ones wanted $1200.
I wanted a sandwich.
So I did it myself. 14hrs non stop (except for that sandwich). My thumbs were bleeding from pulling on the top and struggling. I was working by myself...so I was so lonely :'(
Turned out good though. I spent the the $1200 I saved on enough sandwiches for the rest of my life.

I think the first time I did a top was in....08? I swapped to glass window on my own car.

I'm having the top installed for $450 by an installer in Philly. He came down to Bmore for a weekend of installing tops for guys all over the DMV. I went down for a few hours to meet him and observe. You can always tell the good installers by how many extraneous clips they replace for you during the install! This guy had every piece that was needed. I arrived on the tail end of one install and saw the beginning of another. He definitely knew what he was doing. I showed him my car and he said it would be an honor to work on a car so clean! Thats when I knew I liked him!
Flattery works all too well with me!Could I do it myself? Sure, but I would spend more time and effort than the 2.5 hour drive to this guy. All while keeping my hands soft and supple!
I chose the Black, but was seriously considering both the gray (on my Silverstone) and the burgundy (to go with my red interior). Just could not pull the trigger on either of them.
I also have a liner for the inside that was custom made by some house-frau in England I bought a while ago. I figure between the canvas top and liner, it should quiet the interior down quite a bit more than it is now.
What kills me is the current top has been under the tonneau cover since like May! I don't drive it if there's any hint of rain.

Roland will find your humor pedantic, Jeff.
Dave...for $450, and someone you trust, I don't blame you.
I MAY spring for the same. Sucks to have SUCH a clean car get ruined by a patchy top.

LOL, you crack me up, Roly. Missed you, bud!

If I were to do it again, it would make it my 2nd time around. And I already bought the rivet gun. So...I would likely just do it myself again.
**Disclaimer : I no longer have a soft top.
Well that's not true.
It'll be grrrreat!
Student loans are a drag. $600/mo minimum payments.
M'lady has no idea how good she has it. Her parents paid for her school...and she makes more than me.
I've been paying at an accelerated rate. I should have them paid off in spring 2017.
Probably buy myself a lobster dinner. Or lobster sandwich.

knowwwhatImean?!! eh? fuggedaboudit.
So between those two sources of income... I was able to pay for some school whilst going to school.
After school....it was easy street for a year or 2. Did lots of cool stuff, traveled, etc. I was a bum...but was still able to make minimum payments.
Business was still BOOMING bro.
But...I pay about 2x the min payment and I just do my career job now. Idk what to do with my free time. I ride my bike a lot. I still travel and do cool stuff too, I suppose.
Eff these loans tho. One more year.
Also, you could try making them taste good too and that would set you apart.

Wow, guess I was lucky. Granted, my loan was only for 1 year, so it was $77/mo, 10yr repayment. Paid way over that for a while, then just said f'it & paid it off.
