you just cant win the past 2 weeks can you?doesnt your back seats have a key lock so you can open that way?
YT is dead too? YT should have plenty reserve power to crank it up but guess not...
TL sux with the trunk that you can't open without the power. not even a keyhole to open up manually. trunk is one of its flaws..
i just took my tl for a short spin on the snow/ice. TL NOT RECOMMENDED on any of these conditions except rain. i wonder what makes TL so bad on snow roads compared to TSX. also VSA OFF is a must unless your going nowhere.
Wider tires suck on snow/ice
What kind of tires do you have?
I have NO problem with the VSA

Then again, i have no where to go. And wont be able to make it anywhere if i did. So i may just wait till it warms up and try again.
Also i need to find out why it is dying so quick. It was fine on Sunday, but since then it has drained out. Ill be checking for a drain even when its off after the weather passes. Im gonna guess fog lights.
I just drove my girls carolla around with bald ass tires...but they are skinny as shit as well. Had no problems at all with some conservative big pedal action.
235/45/17 oem michelins last winter
235/40/18 nexen uhpas this winter
both have similar reaction on snow/ice
used to have 225 series kumho asx on my older tsx and it handled snow/ice far better than the current tl.
TL has too much torque to the front wheels for icey conditions. Try to keep it in first gear and let the torque converter roll you forward then gently apply the gas, like big toe on the pedal. Also, big V6 in front with what I'd assume to be poor weight distribution front to back can create some issues on ice.
K24 is a fairly light engine compared to your V6, the TSX is also lighter than the TL, plus having a smaller engine creates a better weight distribution not to mention less torque. That would also explain while Kyle's girls corolla with bald tires manages decently.
Drove to work this morning, parked all day, OEM battery managed to start her up no problem. However did have the radio and interior lights shut off plus the radar detector unplugged. Still rolled over fairly easy after sitting all day outside cold.
If your car is stuck just rev til your motor falls out, VTECCCCCCCCC, NOSSSSSSSSS..... LOL

i think the same too. its the problem with nose heavy tl with more torque.
btw.. some guy is selling e-shift procats in bm for $650. pretty tempting but they are known to deteriorate very fast.

still can't get out of my neighborhood with out chains...decided to walk to the max today ugh what a horrible idea...then i watched some 4-runner go sliding thru the intersection cuz they wre going like 50 and slammed on their brakes(idoits
)...the TL will just sit at home...its all for the best reallyare you kidding me?! I cant even drive in the rain with VSA on I get so angry I'm going to buy the switch where you can turn VSA off and it stays off (even when you restart your car) until you turn it back on...plus if you look around a good portion of the wrecked cars are people who have some type of stability assist crap and they think they are invincible

For what its worth, I used to live in the Northeast so maybe I know how to drive on ice/snow
It started snowing in SW Portland around 10am. I left to go home in Hillsboro - what an adventure that was! Sunset Hwy was fine, over Sylvan, etc, until past 217. It was pretty slick out there. Kept the TL in 2nd all the way, but had to exit off 185th because I was slipping too bad. 185th wasn't bad, but driving West on Cornell was pretty hairy. Some idiot in a Durango (piece of junk) turning West on Cornell from John Olson tried to beat the red light and did a 360. He stopped traffic for a while trying to get back on course.
it started snow around 10:30am in my area. going out to discount tires to sipe tires on our pilot. got a lot cheaper compared to five years ago. only $11 per tire for siping.
will be back
will be back
man... tire shop is really really really busy. i went to the discount tires on 185th and parking lot is more than full with people lining up to get chains or put new tires on. i thought it was thanksgiving black friday
i've done siping years ago on my old '98 accord when they weren't as popular as today and it really increases the traction. it was kumho 712 (summer performance) i believe and it survived a couple winter without any problem. back than it was a bit more than $20 per tire.
but one downside is it sounds like studded tires during summer. with increased number of treads, it creates similar noise like studs when your rolling with windows down. otherwise its pretty good traction device.
