Isnt VSA a "assist"??

Maybe if Oregon was prepared with these strange devices called "snowplows" everything would be fine.

We were out on and off all morning here in bethany and the Pilot did great with just the OEM all seasons on it, didn't even have to throw it into "4WD" or VTM 4-Lock as honda calls it. Only spot of a slide was me having fun Planning on taking it out tomorow to try it in some slightly icey conditions if they exist. TSX sits warm and cozy in the garage.

i made two round trip to tigard from beaverton today and had no problem with cr-v. road was slushy in the morning but all of sudden turned into ice link around 3pm.

just got back from test driving the pilot. vtm-4 is pretty darn good even with the oem tires. in the cr-v you can feel the "realtime awd" kicking in when front wheel slips but vtm-4 is whole different story. wonder how good sh-awd is.

I live in Hillsboro and work downtown, but I'm working from home today. Driving over Sylvan doesn't look too appealing right now...

woohoo for working from home... i'm not about to even walk to the max to get downtown in this - i dont have any type of warm clothing for this. and how nice northface was out of my size when i went shopping sat nite and had to order a jacket that wont be here til wed...i'd be a lot happier if this was all snow still instead of 6 inches of ice & wind...some car tried to leave my complex this morning and it took4 ppl to try to push it back into their spot...good thing there werent cars close by cuz they just slid sidddddeeewaaays - FWD does not belong in ice

^^FWD does better than RWD in this type of weather. 4WD will suffer on ice as well same with AWD. In ice you need chains or studs or a combo of both.

I ended up going into the office anyway. Not a bad drive - only hairy part was Sunset Hwy going down towards the VR tunnel - really slow going. I kept it in second most of the way down. Everyone was going really slow. Luckily not a lot of gravel to pit my windshield - I had it replaced earlier this year.

i guess the correct way to say this would have been lowered cars do not belong in the ice and snow

now would be a good time for me to buy my MDX and some chains

So out here where we live it's a bit icey but not too bad, good enough for the wife to drive me to work tomorrow, no way in hell I'll drive the TSX.

But my parents house in Mt. Park is a whole different story, they can't even move an inch without chains!!!!

Kyle - what's wilsonville like?

I actually wrote a post trying to educate people driving on snow and ice conditions on my own site today. Go ahead and read it if you have time, I tried to list out some easy to follow ideas to help with driving in wintery conditions

Optima Yellow Top = DEAD

And Acura had a lovely design plan of making it so you cant open your trunk where you might possibly keep jumper cables.

Lame....
