Lies.

I voted for the 14th. No promises of me making it though. I have no clue what is going to be going on a month from now.

btw... forgot to tell you guys about something...

oregon state traffic law require drivers to turn off their foglights during clear nights. they are only to be turned on during "foggy/foul" nights that impairs visibility. if fogs are on when the weather is clear, drivers will be ticketed or pulled over for warnings.

lol good thing I didnt do the foglight mod. This is off the oregon.gov website

"What are the laws for using auxiliary lights or fog lights in Oregon?

Answer: Auxiliary driving lights and/or fog lights must be used like the high beam headlight system of your car. You must use a distribution of light or composite beam so aimed that the glaring rays are not projected into the eyes of the oncoming driver. Fog lights may be either white or amber (yellow). They may not be blue, bluish or any other color than white or amber.
On page 60 of the 2001-2003 Oregon Driver Manual it states: "It is also illegal to have auxiliary lights or fog lights on by themselves or on at times when you are required to dim your headlights. These very bright lights make it difficult for oncoming drivers to see."
Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 811.515 Section (8) states: A light other than a headlight, that projects a beam of light of an intensity grater than 300 candle power shall not be operated on a vehicle: (b) when use of low beams of the vehicle headlight system is required under limited visibility conditions.
ORS 801.325 "Limited visibility conditions means: (1) Any time from sunset to sunrise; and (2) Any other time when, due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, persons and vehicles are not clearly discernible on a straight, level, unlighted highway at a distance of 1,000 feet ahead."

I run my fogs all the time past Wash. County sheriff deputies and have NEVER been pulled over. I run em at dawn and at dusk as DRL's as opposed to my headlights or when it's raining which I suppose would be an "atmospheric" exception.

Fuck Oregon

I dont think the mdx fogs can be turned on by itself, mdx's are built like our cars. I'll test it out this weekend on my parent's car but I believe all cars out of the factory you cant turn it on unless your headlights are on. Hey I have never owned a car and had a front plate on it, only been pulled over once, but doesnt mean its legal. Indeed a stupid law

Fobs-the MDX & RDX both use the fogs as their DRLs. That's how they come outta the dealership and people can't get pulled over for their car having a safety feature that runs differently than other cars. So what some other cars use the actual headlights as DRLs..what if I don't wanna ruin my HIDs because some idiot can't aim their fogs right and blinded one of these asshole. That's not my fault. Fogs being brighter than headligts..bullshit.

If anything make it a law that you have to learn how to aim your headlights and fogs the right way in order to have all these dumbass trailer haulin hillbillies quit blindin ppl with a ridiculously high headlight that may as well not even be on cuz you don't need to light up the sky in order to see what's in front of you

Does the MDX/RDX have two bulbs for the fog lights? One for DRL and one for Fog?

From what i read in the law...they dont want people driving around with mis aligned fog light that are blinding everyone.

IE. Civic fan boys that bought a HID kit and had their home boy slap it on in the parking lot.

Im tired of headlights with halogen bulb housings having HIDs in them that are 5 times brighter than the sun blinding the fuck out of me.

What they need to do is make a law banning HIDs on cars that dont have them factory. I dont care what people think..a HID in a non projector housing gives you no better visibility.

yea Ive been sporting hids for the last 3 cars but I had to adjust the headlights so I dont blind people. I had to do a lot of work just so it doesnt blind people but I'm sure a lot of people now a days dont care. But i'm really tired of looking at purple hids, really?

Nope..one bulb in the MDX and RDX.
And those HID retros are illegal without D2R bulbs..otherwise I wouldn't be able to have my HIDs along with many other older cars that have HIDs stock. It's those idiots that buy the HID kit with a D2S bulb that doesn't have the acrylic glare shield and are blinding everyone with their homo lookin lights. There's an Eclipse runnin around these parts with 5000k HID headlights and fogs but both have glare so bad that it's hard to even look at it in the daytime. Prime example of idiots who have no idea how to mod their cars. The f**kheads who ruin proper mods for the rest of us.

To tell you the truth, Ive tested both the D2R and D2S on my retro and its not a really big difference. And only the cars with hid stock would have D2S, if not they are running h4s, 9005, etc. which does not have an option for a shield. Regardless, output looks like shit, its the housing when it reflects the light that is blinding, but output on the ground also looks like shit. There are bright spots and dark spots, its just not consistent. I dont mind people buying an hid kit for their cars as long as they take their time to adjust them. I'm sure they get tired of being high beamed daily.

Haha..cuz I'll be pissed if I get pulled over for my fogs. I always have em on and they are 5000k which can be considered "bluish."
Just another bullshit law..like the no topping off shit..I tell the attendant not to do it anyways but it's just a bullshit nit-picky thing that we all know was catalyzed by one of those idiots with pseudo-power having a problem with it..that's all it always is tho they write up some crazy petition to state otherwise.

Well the D2S and D2R difference wouldn't be apparent in projectors since they handle glare on their own. The reflector does play some part but I noticed a huge glare difference between my fogs (lots of glare hence aimed lower) and my headlights, D2S vs D2R respectively; the only difference being the acrylic glare shield on the bulb. The only reason they call bulbs H4, 9006, etc., is because of the base. For example, the D2S bulbs in my fogs right now are called 9006 because they are re-based to a 9006 socket so technically they are 9006 D2S. The D2S and the D2R also have a different base which places the bulb differently in a housing..I believe a 90 degree turn difference but the name difference refers to the shield.

Oregon lawmakers are such bullshit...

i learned this on sunday night over tigard (99w westbound) by getting pulled over by a cop good thing he was just trying to be informative about a law that majority of oregonians don't know about.

but this is totally up to cop's decision like no front license plate or tint laws.

to add on to oregon's fogs law...

officer also told me that all vehicles need independent switch dedicated for the fogs so they can be turned on/off seperate from the headlights.

so this means if mdx doesn't come with switch to turn off the fogs, its illegal against the oregon traffic law and probably the car might be impounded in worst worst case. or might get a fix-it ticket and will need aftermarket switch.
