Was thinking about ASP header, but I kinda don't like them not having flex pipe and 1000+ price tag. So I'm thinking about going with DC and weld in a new flex to begin with. Even with new flex cost, price will be cheaper than any other header in the market.

ya still running the dc header.. i went with a flex pipe other then a vibrant cause i even blew the vibrant after a month.. if you get the dc header ill send you the link to the flex pipe i got

Guess I'll go with DC header and weld in a new flex from the beginning. With DC's cheaper price, I probably can afford the high flow cat at the same time. Or I want that 5zigen header, but no one have any real info on the power gain.

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-performance-parts-modifications-126/5zigen-header-finally-out-our-car-679635/

http://www..com/forums/1st-gen-engin...er-header.html

Wanted JDM or Custom header, but they all seem to have little bit of issue and price is costly. Comptech is the best in built quality for the price, but no one seemed to found a real resolution to fix that annoying rattle issue..

Most aftermarket headers all have the rattle due to the greater amount of air going through. Best way to avoid is to run a TP or HFC.

comptech's rattle is different. its really annoying rattle that happens on most on AT tranny when its standing still at idle. not something related with the flow restricted by the cat. and even after 5 years of absent from tsx scene, no one seemed to find a solution.

Shorty headers are a waste of money IMO. The only thing worth doing is the HFC or a true catless race header (which will pass emissions in the state of OR if you have FlashPro btw). No one will give you straight info on gains because there are virtually none.... on all of them.

oh yea! my memory is slowly coming back. people had issues with them not tightened enough, and exhaust leak along with header. for me, i never had issues with the cat or the leak. only pain in the ass was comptech header rattling at idle.

i'll be going

think i'll just swipe my plastic to order the flp high flow cat as well today. i already feel exhaust flow hesitating at header/cat, and flp cat will alleviate bit of that problem especially after the reflash. also deq won't notice anything since stock heatshield will be reused.

DEQ doesn't do visual inspection so it doesn't matter anyways.

With an OBDII car, I've never had the DEQ do any type of inspection. They will on OBDI and older cars though.

so just plug and go for obdII? thats nice. maybe they inspected it because it was '93 with obdI

anyways this fastline company doesn't even have a phone number to contact. probably will have to pay full regular price at heeltoe if they don't reply back.

So Heeltoe bought out the Fastline or Heeltoe=Fastline from the beginning? Thought Heeltoe was a vendor as a sales rep for like ATLP that only designs and manufactures. So ATLP has been bought out too?

wassup guys, its been awhile since i have been on the boards. Hope everyone is doing good. Looks like min is back in the fold. As for me... the tsx is still the same havent done much mods to it beside a Tl's sway bar and switched to prokit springs. Sold my ruckus to a guy up in hillsboro... so some of you might see it around. Min you might know him, his name is ken and is a friend of tony's. Going to be on the forums bit more so maybe i can make the next meet.

I put the funds from the ruckus and got this....

Just curious, why'd you choose the 250 over the 650?

Cost factor really. I paid $2600 used with 3500miles on the clock with no damage or mods. Used 650's were going for >3800 at the time i got it and wasnt to crazy about the banana seat. Was not planning on financing a bike so i stuck to what i could afford at the time. Not regretting it one bit as the 250 is quick enough to get you in trouble and is extremely fun in the curves due to the lightness.I weigh 155 so its great for me. First thing i did was swap out the stock tires for some pilot powers and the bike sticks to pavement like crazy.

Either way, i have already told the old lady im going to upgrade when i find a good deal on bigger bike. Resale on these thing are really good as i can probably make out close to what i paid if i dont tip it.

Ah, yea that's what I figured. My friend ended up getting a 250 instead and figured he would just use the money he saved towards a bigger bike in the future too. I was thinking of doing the same, and it would be my first bike so I probably wouldn't want to get anything too expensive in case I happen to drop it. So the weight of the bike is pretty good and manageable?

The bike is extemely light. Its under 400lbs wet and about around 50-100lbs less then a 600cc bike. Im 5'5 and 155lbs, i can manage a 600cc bike just fine although im pretty much on my toes. Another thing is i pay about $15 a month on insurance vs double that or more for the 600 class sport bikes. Actually anything the insurance calls a "sport" bike will cost more and the 250 is not defined as sport. Go and sit on them at a dealer and see what fits you better. Consider insurance and what your going to use it for also. Supersports are extremely nice and all but can also be a nightmare if your just learning to ride.
