Well here's my story:

I'm here because last thanksgiving I went to visit my home girl in ATL and she picked me up in her 06 TSX. Of course I turned into a hater (I had just bought my 06 Mazda 6s) and was asking her why she would spend, what seemed to me an obscene amount of money on a car that small (I think he payments were like 430 a month). So long story short we ended up traveling from ATL to her parents house in Alabama and she let me drive; and how can I say this.... I instantly started having regrets for getting my Mazda. I personally think she could see that I enjoyed driving her car and decided to torture me even further but letting me drive everywhere for the rest of the week I was there. She knows I would never spend that much on a car payment (my mazda payment is only 120 a month, she constantly call me frugal aka cheap)

It was like that AVIS rent a car commercial. I went on vacation and hand fun with another car.

So basically fast forward to now and I got a job offer making ALOT of money (given my last occupation: Army and brief stint in college; we all know how broke you are in college), I can now reasonably (at least to me) afford to purchase either an 04 or 05 TL w/Navi. One thing the 6 has going for it, is its size so that's why I'm not going for the TSX rather the TL (need something bigger) So that's what I plan to do either at the end of June or July (to get the best deal ).

Of course I told my home girl Jen and she called me a hater and a biter, but I just as well told her she should be happy she influenced me to come over to the Acura side.

So that's where I stand and that's why I'm here. The End.

My TL is lowered about 2" and it handles great in any weather as long as I don't drive like a jackass. Also, the tires you have makes more of a difference than anything else, since that is what is giving (or not) your traction. Get some good tires on any car and it will handle well in the snow, wet, dry, etc.

Gator, get the TL, you won't regret it. While there are some flaws in TL, it pretty much does everything it advertises really well.

If you want on '03 Type S, I might be willing to part with my baby so I can get that M5 I have always wanted, or an autocross machine...

lol, i got my baby dropped to 1 finger gap with near bald tires all winter, needless to say i'm still alive and well. for a heavy ass car, the TL handles quite well in the snow.

i seriously cant wait for our next meet, oughta be a good one

I'm not gonna lie - in the winter, nothing can touch a 4wd/awd vehicle hands down. But, a front wheel drive is very efficiant, and a lot more practical - since you don't need to be burning up all 4 tires by driving AWD when it's sunny and 90 out.

Without looking into the stats, I think the FWD TL has more power, features, and better specs than the AWD G.

I've got an 04, and it handles pretty decent actually. My only complaint if there is one, is that our cars sit fairly low to begin with - so any snow over a few inches leaves you spinning a lot from the stops. I ended up buying a $200 blazer that I only drove a few times last winter - when we had heavy snow. It's not that my TL was getting stuck or anything, but I figured if I could spare my baby the agony, it was worth the $200

I have an 04 never had a problem with it. In the winter I put on my OEM rims with snow tires and not a problem. Tires are the important thing. You do not need to buy a second AWD vehicle. Glow has deep pockets thats why he can afford a second vehicle.

Well that explains everything. Anytime I'd reach into my pockets for some cash, I could never find any - and now I know it's cause my arms are too short. (or would it be Too $hort since we've been on a kick lately...lol)

Yeah it mostly is tires and since youve never driven in snow as much as we have you don't know exactly how to handle it yet so you just need to get used to it.

Prepare to laugh your ass off!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5uS2eCtiUQ

Man, this next meet is gonna be epic! People are coming out of the friggin woodwork! I say we plan it for next weekend, the 17th at a park where we can BBQ and have a good time. Do I have any supporters for that? Some of the parks on the riverside have grills in them, we would just have to bring charcoal and lighter fluid to cook everything that we (also) bring. There is a pretty cool park at Broadway and Marshall that we could use.

Can't do Friday meets, I have to be at the office all day, too many meetings. What about Sunday, would that work better for everyone? Meet up around 2?

FTW= For The Win
IMO = In My Opinion

I think Razzi would be happier with the HS girls...

As for grilling at the game, you think they would mind if we brought brew?

guys it's saturday and nothing is happening lol.

there's gonna be a gathering at foodsmart tonight and there's supposed to be 40+ over at the vandalia "dragstrip" i went out last night and stumbled upon an eclipse, asked where he was going, he said industrial blvd so i followed him. came out and saw a corvette run a evo, evo killed it O.o

i'll probably be out with some friends at foodsmart at 8 or so for the hell of it. if anybody's interested, it's on the corner of dale and university in saint paul. the vandalia dragstrip is on vandalia and university. go to the corner and head north on vandalia till the dead end. stay near the right side curb as you drive in cause marauders and other objects might be flying your way

and everyone can treat me like a kid, but when i go for the yungums it's red flag this and chris hansen that

Maybe I should go buy a 40 of bulls ice for the occasion..lol (What shall I buy for H3 though... a laser rifle?)

So, we are all down for Saturday, between 12 and 2 show up time at the park at Marshall and Broadway on the riverfront on the east side of the river.

I will bring burgers, Razzi you bring the buns, Jorge - chips, Dan - pasta salad, Trojan - Charcoal & lighter fluid, Blackura TL - show up (sodas), Glow - brats, Jermaine - brat buns.

If you want to drink something other than sodas, you are responsible for bringing it, but that doesn't mean that we won't help you drink it!!

Annnnnnd everyone bring your clean car and a camera.

If it rains, we can adjourn to my place and grill on the roof.
