Yes, you have to have an impact, and a big one at that. When they did mine, the guy hammered away at it for a while...

Well - due to the snowy situation that has been happening recently, and by the looks of the forecast - continues to be an issue...

The TL got washed/waxed on Sunday and has been put away for the season.

Hey Josh - I just picked up a battery grip for my XSi. That think is sweet. Weighs damn near as much as my camera, and they integrate so well you would think it's been there the whole time. The one I picked up has all the buttons and the jog wheel to operate the camera fully from the grip. Bought it for $65 shipped/pp'ed including 2 batteries and the AA tray for it. What a deal! (bought from POTN website FS thread)

Couple of things stand out for me, but overall this is great for your first outing..

1. You were able to improve on each run, except the first one in the afternoon. That means that you were learning the course and it's good. The first one in the afternoon is usually slower or dirtier due to time away from the car.

2. No cones. That means that you were not getting close enough and were leaving gobs of time out there. Again, good for a first timer.

If you come out next season I'll arrange a ride for you with Charles or Jocelin, they are REALLY fast and drive a smokin S2K.

India is cool, but Jorge, I can never see you owning a car here. There is not a single car that has no dents in it, and the roads are best suited for an SUV, not a car. Since a lot of the roads are dirt or gravel, the TL would be immensely dirty in about .000002343 seconds. Not to mention that the potholes and other road imperfections would bend the beejeezus out of those beautiful 19"s.

It really is a totally different world, there are lanes on the road, but no one pays any attention to them. Traffic is the worst I have ever seen, it takes me 40+ minutes to go 12KM each morning, and I tend to leave before the traffic gets bad. On the other hand, high speed is 40KM/hr, so accidents aren't that bad. My driver (yes, I have a chauffer) ran a motorcyclist off the road the other day, but he was going slow enough that he basically just dropped the bike on its side. People walking in the street, bicycles in the middle of the road, scooters, dogs, cows, all of this in the middle of the street walking in and out of traffic.

The food is amazing. Incredible flavors on every kind of vegetable or meat that you can imagine. I had the most amazing potatoes last night with my dinner, they were intensely hot, but oh so flavorful. Coke is made with real sugar here, so it tastes much better.

Another thing, everything here has a purpose. In the US the purpose of that burger you are about to eat is to fill your stomach. I was going through the buffet yesterday and the guy explaining everything to me is telling me, "this is good for your stomach, this is good for your throat, this is good for..." It's not just, "this is good for filling your gullet" and I think that's pretty damn cool.

I was thinking today on the drive in how we have this saying in the US, "You can't judge a book by it's cover", and I was thinking that this is EXACTLY what we try to do. Think about this concept: curb appeal. Isn't that trying to judge what the inside will look like based on what the outside looks like? The houses here all look like shit on the outside, but once you get inside they are like friggin palaces. I'm not judging, but it is interesting to notice little things like that.

I have been thinking about getting one of those, but I have been in India for almost two weeks now and have only needed to charge the battery once, so I just can't justify it.

BTW, what is POTN? Pr0n of the Net?

How is everyone doing? It has been awhile since i threw a post on here. Busy up here in Fargo at school.

Josh: You just gave me a craving for some India Palace in EP. I think i'll have to eat some of that when i get home this weekend. That is great to hear you are enjoying India!

Slappy: You ever get that bumper and stuff on? I want to see your car.

I havn't really been up to much with my car. i am broke and in the process of trying to pick up an Audi A6 Wagon for winter duties.

But, i got my springs from the Norcal G guys.

Which should drop me around this low:

And while i was gone my dad put a cooler up on the shelf that always tosses things off it when the washing machine is on, and now i have a big old chunk of paint missing off my bumper and scuffs and scratches and spiderweb cracks everywhere..

First thing that has happened to my car since i'v bought it. I managed to get this car out to the pacific ocean and Long Beach bay and back, and all over the midwest, but it cant survive the garage. Oh well, my mom said her friend that runs the body shop near us would fix it come spring time, which is a plus for me since my bumper is full of rock chips.

Glad to hear you'r all doing well!

Its actually not my first time. Everytime i go out, my first run is always the slowest because im trying not to get lost...lol. My first run in the afternoon was slower cause the track got way more dusty and the car was sitting for a while while i was working the track. I didnt hit any cones becaue i am that BADASS!!!! HEHEHEHE!!!

I'll have you check it out next time we get together. It's not just the 2 batteries that is the benefit. It actually adds a little bit of heft, and gives you a "handle" to grab onto. It makes the camera a handful - since ours tends to run on the small side. I've never held one, but I can imagine it makes it more like a Mark series in weight and feel.

I also tend to take photos 1/2 and 1/2 portrait and lanscape. When the camera is portrait - now I have the zoom, shutter, and ISO controls on a vertical axis of the camera. No more carpal tunnel trying to hold your right hand all crazy to get good pics. You just turn the camera sideways and hold it like you normally would.

Oh - and POTN... check it out if your interested in a photography azine..lol I google 100% of website, so you can just google POTN. But it is actually PhotagraphyOnThe.Net Lots of good people sharing excellant tidbits. It's a canon forum, with different body forums, different photography genre forums as well as a FS, WTB and Market forum (Market forum is the place people say "lookie here - this is on sale @....."

If you guys are going to race your gonna need a helmet. Make sure it is Snell approved. Not just DOT. I got mine at bobs cycle supply. GO to www.mnauox.com and sign up on that forum... when the schedule is made for next year you can see it there and you can sign up online for the races you want to do.

Its addicting!!!!

This weather sucks!!! I put the TL away the other day and now tore apart the exterior, cleaning up under the bumpers, re-doing my headlights, and taillights over the winter.

Anyone driving their 3G TL through the winter that's looking for winter floor mats? I bought these last March assuming this car was going to be driving all year round. It's a set of WeatherTech digital fit floor mats fronts, and rears if anyone is interested just pm me..

You looking at the weather in India for Josh? It's not supposed to be anywhere near the 70's here. They say it might get up to 61, but I think 69 and 71 might be a stretch on either day.

So I just got my Inferno Red Crystal Pearlcoat 2006 Jeep Liberty (winter vehicle) about a week ago and am ready to start customizing it I'm not going to go overboard with the modifications due to the fact that I plan on not keeping the whip for too long. I already have acquired two Legacy Subwoofers (but one is blown ), one Legacy Amp, one Pyramid Power Cap, and enclosure. Here's a list of other mods I plan on installing:

- 12000K (Exotic Violet) Bi-Xenon HID Kit (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tab%3DWatching)
- StreetGlow LED Side Bars

- PlasmaGlow Firestorm LED Tailgate Bar (http://www.autoanything.com/Popups/V...ProductID=4299)
- Kenwood KDC-HD942U Receiver
- Remote start system
- BlendMount for my Escort Passport 9500ix with Direct Wire SmartCord (http://www.mgtmotorsports.com/mgt_bbe.html)
- Red LED map lights
- Cool White LED license plate light
- Jeep steering wheel cover
- Red wiper blades
- More mods to come...

My main concern is whether or not the police will fuck with me due to the 12000K HIDs and LED Side Bars. What do you guys think?

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe you can only display yellow on the sides of a vehicle (unless its the side rear, then red is acceptable as a marker light)

I had purple neons under a cutlass I used to have. Got pulled over all the time - I would expect the same for the LED underbody kit.

As for the headlights - with the rest of the stuff your putting on there, I think you will have issues with that as well. Consider it the guy that is speeding, with dark tint. Probably not getting pulled over for the tint, but as long as your sitting on the side of the road... I've got a buddy of mine that put a higher kelvin (sp?) bulb in his car and he hates it. When I drive with him, we literally cannot see any more than probably 15-20 feet in front of his car.

And Legacy? Come on man. You can do better than that! I don't consider legacy to be any better than the roadmaster crap you can get from wal-mart or the auto parts store. Pawn shops are always a good way to get cheap stuff. I'd think about that before you go and start replacing blown $15 subs.

You would drive around in your Cutlass with purple neons glowing under your whip?

I received the subwoofers, amp, power cap, and enclosure for FREE from my brother. Anything that you receive for FREE you really can't complain. Besides, this is my winter vehicle... I don't need a bangin' system like in White Heat.

I replaced the factory 4300K HIDs on my Acura with 10000K (deep blue) & I replaced my 168 application fog lights with 20000K (pure blue) HIDs. Thus, I know I won't receive the best lumens output with the 12000K; I just want to try something different (going with violet) since I have the blue light theme going on with the Acura.

There's a guy in my city that cruises around in his truck and he has amber LED side bars. I would assume if the cops gave him too much hassle that he would have un-installed them by now (and the cops in my city are complete dicks!). You always see amber LEDs all along semi trucks... I wonder if having amber LEDs on the side of your is only legal on commercial vehicles.

I think ambers are legal. Think of people with pickups and stuff that put the lights on the sides (and semi's) - so I'm pretty sure it isn't a commercial thing.

Where's Josh when we need him - he's always good for stuff like this

Any color underglow kit is illegal in MN! Amber lights are legal, but I think there are restrictions on their use, like they can't be flashing lights unless they are a blinker or something like that. If you put those lights on, just have them come on when your door is open or something like that. Better to be safe than sorry. I try not to give cops anymore reason to pull me over than necessary!

RANT incoming - I really dislike MN drivers specially some races that I will not go into. But always driving 15-20mph under the speed limit.

Here's my story. On 169 S, just passed Fleet Farm, about to pass the 90hwy exits. I'm on my way to St. Louis Park for a house warming party and I'm in the Left lane going 45-50 or so with 4cars in front and 2 cars behind me. In an instant every car slams on their brakes and I had half a second, slammed on my brakes and I know for a fact I won't be able to stop in time, so I somehow managed to swerve to the Left hand shoulder and miss the car in front of me by 6inches probably less. It was truly something out of a movie. Zero damage no crunch noise and I escaped this mess like it was a dream.

Here's what happened - guy in front, the leader of the pack almost missed his exit, so what is the logical thing to do? Hit his brakes wait till the RIGHT lane clears and proceeds to exit perpendicular to the HWY 90 exit. Like 90degree hard right to exit. I was floored to see this....... Seriously why couldnt he just go to the next exit like a normal person instead of almost killing 7 others.

/end rant.

/end rant.
You can't fix stupid.

Sounds either like an old white-hair, or a muslim lady in a minivan. I thought old people were the worst... I learned I was wrong when I started working in South Minneapolis.

I see a turbin and a minivan - I turn.
