TLBadyBoy96 (Derrick) was at the HRADA show with us and actually came to Cheeseburger in Paradise with us as well. He does check the threads and calls me from time to time. He was actually sitting at the other end of the table from you.
As for base hobby shops, the only restriction that I know is that the car has to be registered to the person that holds the ID. Now, I think I agree with Mike in saying that the hobby shop may not be worth it. I would also say we could use my place, however, my garage is also very small and there is not tons of driveway or street parking. I've got the tools for the most part, so we could try to make it work. Here is an aerial view of my house. It shows a lot more available street parking that what is typically available, but I guess overall it's not to bad. So if we don't have any other options, we can probably make this work.

Obviously, my house is the one with the A pointing to the roof.

okay.. I am going to score myself pretty high on the dumbass meter for that one. I think Derrick mentioned that he was having computer issues. Do you want to give him a call? 'cuz I really don't want to drive ALL THE WAY to YOUR house!

Seriously.. I'm game for anything! Once we pick the spot I'll be there to show off my complete lack of knowledge and skills!

It's cool man...I'll give Derrick a call and see what's going on.
And Mike, if you need too...I'll give you directions to my house, I can even meet you half way if you need me to, then you can follow me.

Damn man...I didn't realize you were so close. I knew Mike lived in the area but I didn't realize that you were right around the corner too.

Nothing on Adrian lately. Wonder what he's up too.

Cool.. half way huh??? I guess you would be meeting me in my back yard?? lol I can't believe Eric lives so close too! We need to rename this area to Acurazineville!

The last time I saw Adrian was at the auto show but haven't chatted with him since. I will check in with big chief Adrien and see whats up. I was hoping that him and his boy could join us for the bowl party.

What's up man...sounds like you have a better spot that I do to have a mod meet if ur willing. And if so, we're at your mercy for the date. I think most of us would like it to be a little warmer out, but let us know what you're schedule looks like.

Just a side not...I added another Acura to the family last night. We have been looking for a while and finally found a good deal. We picked up and 08 RDX Tech. I kept the TL of course, we traded in her Accord for it. I've only driven it for about 20 minutes, but I love it so far. It handles like a car for the most part and has tons of power for a 4 cyl...that turbo is awesome! I'm still trying to figure out how to use most of the functions inside, so someone may need to give me a little training. I also don't know how to reset the PIN on the Nav. The previous owner had a PIN set for entering personal addresses and I'd like to see if I can reset before I have to go back to the dealer with it. It also had a 7 yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty...I thought that was pretty damn sweet. We may drive that to the Super Bowl party instead of my POS.

Cool Jeff. Now Khristen has no excuse not to come out. J/K

Well, just to let everyone know I will not be able to make it to the Super Bowl party. Too many other people already off that night so I can't make it. I hope you all have fun!!!

No problem man.. give me a call anytime. 757-636-1987
Like I said before.. the biggest drawback about carspa is that you have to look over your car to make sure that it was done the way you wanted. If you find something and point it out, they have no problem taking care of it. The other con is that cars with lowered suspension may have to go when they are staffed well enough to do everything by hand. The pros are that it is convenient, you can usually find coupons, and if it rains within a week after they do your car they will re-wash it for free.

In other words, know what you want and be willing to check over their work to make sure it was done to your standards. If you go prepared, especially with coupons it can be a really good option.

Hope this helps.
Mike

What's everybody up been up to???? The board did kind of die out for a while there..

Thanks Derrick.. I know a few of us aren't available the weekend of March 21-22nd, but aside from that, just let me know what date and time in March works best with your schedule for the mod meet and we will go with that. Like Jeff said, we just appreciate you offering up your place man, the rest we can make work.

Yeah, the board definitely did die down quite a bit. In case you guys didn't see, I finally post some pics from the HRADA Show. They didn't come out very good at all, but they're there for your viewing. I'll get in touch with Derrick and see when he thinks would be a good time for the mod meet.

Thumbs up Please help support an officer in need

If anyone is interesed in coming out to help support a close friend of my family: Join us next Sunday February 22, 2009 for a fundraiser at Dave’s Cove located at 6205 Portsmouth Boulevard from 5pm-9pm. Officer Jason Mewhinney is a wonderful father, loving family man, and Portsmouth Police officer who has been struck down by a mysterious illness leaving him unable to work, and physicians unable to figure out what is literally sucking the life out of him and destroying his quality of life.

Dave, the owner of Dave's Cove has graciously agreed to donate a percentage of the sales during that time towards our fundraiser.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing and a $5.00 donation at the door will get you a set of beads and a mask to help you celebrate the Mardi Gras theme.

Live entertainment by 22:

Voted the #1 acoustical country/blues/indie/folk duo in the eastern half of western Willoughby Spit five years in-a-row, 22 consists of two completely distinct, yet randomly harmonious players: Brian “BC” Claffey: mandolin(s), dobro and harmonica; and, Joe “Joe” Giltner: guitar, vocals & tambo-shoe.

More info available at this link:
http://sdwhiteonline.net/fundraiser-...y-february-22/

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD. AND IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN. THANKS. MIKE 757-636-1987

Don't forget that Mike normally has the car show on Memorial Day weekend as well. I am sure that will be the case again this year, for those who are not going to make it to this or don't want to make the trip.

Um, where does everyone get their HID headlight bulbs when they burn out? I checked the dealer, so far they are the cheapest of all that I checked with.

I don't have all of the details yet, but the MEMORIAL DAY CAR SHOW is definitely ON this year. I believe the date is Monday, May 25th, 2009 at the Philippine Cultural Center in Virginia Beach (same as last year).

I think the Honda Meet is the following weekend.. Maybe we can all try to do both??? That would be a nice way to kick off the summer season!!!

BTW, Dave.. How is your hand healing?

Ok guys here is a crazy question. When you go to put gas in your tank, when you unscrew the cap, is there a silver circular tap there? I tried putting gas in my car today and for some reason it wouldn't work. I have a couple of cars so can't remember if that silver tab is in the TL or not cause right now i dont see it..........Thanks

What's up guys!!! Sorry...I have been MIA. Cold weather sucks; just takes the energy right out of ya! lol! I'm looking forward to upcoming events. Bring it on!

^Derrick - can't say that I have notice a tap or anything. What kind of issues are you having?

Adrian, i might be thinking of my other car. Saturday i tried putting gas in the TL and for some reason the pump wouldn't work. I went to another pump and the same thing happened. I was thinking that there was a sliver circular tab that is in the way when you put the nozzle in but i think i might be getting confused with my 4runner.
